I'm sick of being principled. I canceled my own SS and when I could have taken unemployment for 2 years, but I never did. Instead, I started my own computer business.

I don't have any CC debt but I'm thinking about getting balls deep. Hey, we're gonna have inflation, so I'll be bailed out right? If not maybe Obama can help me out a bit.

Me too. I'd like some ROI on my taxes. I'd use the food stamps on lobster and porterhouse, when it's used up, back to tuna and ground beef.

Not all of us are lucky enough to have the land or the skills for subsistence farming. I say go ahead and take food stamps if you have to. Just don't forget that you're on food stamps because of all the government has stolen from you, your potential employers and every part of our economy.

For Heaven's sake, keep that attitude! To all the folks upthread who were either joking or writing seriously about wanting their 'free money', preserving what's left of the old social stigma that surrounded going on the dole is a key element in bridging the time gap until the earliest point at which sufficiently large numbers of liberty-minded candidates can be elected to institute meaningful structural reforms.

If it erodes entirely, even among those who know the effects of dependency culture, and especially among the culturally middle class, the odds of saving the Republic from collapse will have essentially reached zero - not something I want to see.
