While Rasmussen has been shown in the past to be in the tank establishment, this is scary. Just goes to show you how stupid/unaware the American public is. "Fairness" sounds great, but where is the representation of Libertarian views? What about anarchist views? Now the government will start defining when you have heard "both" sides of an argument, when there are really infinite sides. Contrary to opening the debate, this would actually stifle it.

If this poll is correct than there is no hope for free speech as they will eventually control us here.
I feel hopelessly sad for United States of America.

Fairness Doctrine will fail, rightfully.. we will elect more GOP in congress eventually, and they will pass a bill restricting and censoring the internet... and nobody will make a fuss.

Good work soldiers, keep stamping out the flame.

Calm down, my liberal friend. I (and hopefully the majority of those here) would side with the ACLU before the NRA.

Then I hope to see you at the first EFF picket line my friend.

This just goes to show that both liberals AND conservatives can be authoritarian.

The true battle is libertarian vs authoritarian. One can lean either left or right but it matters not. More government or less government is the question.

Poll: 47% support Fairness Doctrine

In another poll, 47% of respondents had no idea what the "Fairness Doctrine" really was...

but how can we license only a elite few to hold all of the power on tv/radio? but yet we should let them have free reign to decide elections, to shape viewpoints, and to just purposely deceive the American public without any public recourse? hmmm

lol it cant be scientific...

they probably had no idea what the fairness doctrine is..

" i voted yes because i agree with being fair...."

.....

There is no left and right, there is authoritarian and freedom.

Yeah, the obvious libertarian solution is to trust the government to regulate what we see and hear on the news. Great idea.
