Politico article concedes Ron Paul supporters didn't create 'manchurian' Huntsman video.

It is offensive that Ron Paul’s allies would claim that Gov. Huntsman’s own family would create such a video

You know, there's nothing in that memo that implies that Huntsman's family was involved in this at all. In fact, the only one implying that they are is the Huntsman campaign.

Curious, that. I wonder why...

This is a dead give away
“It is offensive that Ron Paul’s allies would claim that Gov. Huntsman’s own family (bold added) would create such a video that distracts from the important issues that this country faces,” said Miller, who explained the campaign became aware of the video “when a reporter emailed me about it.”

Maybe I haven't read it, but nowhere did I see the Paul campaign --and I read the finding report --- suggest Huntsman's family did it. The only thing I have seen is suggestion that someone close to the Huntsman campaign did. Huntsman's campaign took it from someone close to Huntsman's family. Dead give away it was their family (if they indeed brought it up first).

This is crucial.

If ketchup was a threat outside of NH I'd suggest making the truth come to light so he looks like the asshole he really is, but since he'll be done after Tuesday, I think we should just let dead dogs lie.

Although this is all BS, any and all further explanations must come from the Huntsman camp.

“It is offensive that Ron Paul’s allies would claim that Gov. Huntsman’s own family would create such a video that distracts from the important issues that this country faces,” said Miller, who explained the campaign became aware of the video “when a reporter emailed me about it.”

MSM: Who sent you the email ?

Miller:

MSM: The reporter must have gotten it from the uploader or someone very close to the uploader.

Miller:

MSM: Again Mr. Miller who was your source for this disgusting video ?

Miller:

MSM: Thank you Mr. Miller, you're silence is telling. I think the public now knows the Ron Paul campaign had absolutely nothing to do with this.

Let's all hope for the best :D

The Huntsman campaign response to this video suggests the possibility that the debate moderators may go after RP for 9-11 "conspiracy" theories again.

Just the fact that Ron would even have to answer for a random YouTube video that one of his supporters may have made is insane to me.

Why didn't CanDo mention the Piers Morgan interview?

MORGAN: I think you should do what Mitt Romney does and get the dirty work done by somebody else. In your case maybe your daughters could unleash themselves on Twitter on him. I think that might be a better way of doing it. Keep your hands out of it.

HUNTSMAN: They’ve got plenty– they’ve got plenty up their sleeves Piers, and you might be surprised at what they release in the next few days.

MORGAN: No, I’m hearing– I’m hearing noises of more stuff coming. I can’t wait.

The timing, nature, and other evidence regarding this video clearly suggested this was Huntsman's people. A response like this:

It’s a charge Huntsman’s campaign flatly rejects, and Huntsman spokesman Tim Miller compared it to dabbling in 9/11 conspiracy theories.

Blasted Miller: “Their latest conspiracy theory is nothing more than an attempt to cover for one of their racist supporters. The Paul campaign has botched the response to this shameful video from the beginning. Had they simply condemned the video and their supporter, we would be discussing the important issues facing our country. Instead their ridiculous and easily debunked ‘commission report’ will continue to focus attention on this shameful video.”

“It is offensive that Ron Paul’s allies would claim that Gov. Huntsman’s own family would create such a video that distracts from the important issues that this country faces.”

pretty much confirms it for me. There is very little that is logical about this response if they are innocent of the charge. Why does he say the offensive claim is that the family would "distract from the important issues" when the ethnic/racial denigration of their family members is what most people would consider the most offensive aspect of the video? I would think the most obvious campaign response would be "We would never drag Huntsman's own kids through the mud to score political points" but that is not their response.

The fact they immediately scream about conspiracy theories and compare it to conspiracy theories about 9-11 makes it seem a bit like they protest too much. Even further they claim it is an attempt for "one of their racist supporters" in a completely absurd assessment that shows no desire to be truthful, which is evidenced even further by them acting as if Paul's first response was not to condemn the video, say this person is no supporter, and called for it to be taken down.

Of course, anyone who looks at the facts can see plainly that this was a set-up from the start and there is nothing about it that demonstrates a random act of trolling. It happened the night of January 4th, a day after the Iowa caucus, as people turn attention to New Hampshire. This account registers for the sole purpose of posting the video. What is most telling is the tweet. Anyone familiar with Twitter knows that the @ symbol sends the tweet to the user named after it and that hashtags only have the tweet pop up in searches for the subject matter. The very first tweet did this only for Huntsman.

Meet Tim Miller

In case anyone is wondering, this is Tim Miller - the guy who said:

Huntsman may his opinion on what's offensive about this, but I think it's offensive that he used this video and his adopted daughters to get press attention that he would have otherwise not received today. I think it's offensive that he never refers to those two girls simply as his daughters. They are always his adopted daughters. I think it's offensive that he is always quick to paint himself as their savior and never misses a chance to remind the world that they were "abandoned" including in response to this video. I think it's offensive that I can't find one single article that would indicate that he did anything as ambassador to China to reduce the likelihood that Chinese children being exported to the US through adoption were not trafficked. Frankly, I just find Huntsman offensive.

You hit the nail on the head. I have a daughter from China. I will tell you that most of the parents of Chinese children that were adopted have been offended by much of his actions and referrals to his daughters. I wish I could speak up for the RP campaign that I have a daughter from China and I support Ron Paul.

right or wrong this will hurt ron and that is all it was intended to do and it did. If Ron Paul doesn't come out and break these liars necks tonight in the debate and call them all out. I don't see much changing in this race.

look what happened when we ignored the newsletters. no worries just let it all slide. It will blow over/sarcasm

People who say ignore this are living in some type of fantasy sims world.

Yes. I think it's easy to miss if one is unfamiliar with adoption that the way Huntsman parades his daughters around, constantly draws attention to their adoptions, and broadcasts details of their origins is not viewed as dignified behavior among adoptive families. He has a long history of this. It didn't begin as a defensive response to this video.
