Keep it going guys and gals.. Get everyone you know to send letters to their county GOP as well as the state and nationals !!! Please keep this thread bumped....

Bump

I just informed them if they nominate a socialist progressive, like McCain, they will be losing my Husbands, my fathers,my mothers, sisters and my vote and that we will still be voting conservative just maybe not republican. I also informed them that McCain would only continue the Bush started trend of the GOP losing the house and senate to Dems.
I think I made soon good points, hopefully they listen to all of us...

I sent my letter to everyone on the GOP e-mail list that was provided. So did my husband.

rant about how he stands solidly upon conservative principles. After going through every one of his conservative positions, I couldnt help but have the same thought. Ask him to define conservative and have him compare that to what RP thinks is conservative. Except for Iraq/foreign policy (which was the least articulated of all his positions) Hannity describes, and critiques the issues almost identically to what RP has been saying for months. Yet he followed with the same ignorant statement "There is no real conservative to vote for!!"

WTF?

Well he did say many many times, he would fully support the republican nominee whoever that might be.

Obviously Hannity has a real problem with McCain and now wants him to make promises to the conservatives in order to be able to support him. So now McCain needs to alter his principles/positions to get the conservative vote. Dont you just love the phony politics of it all. Hannity wants to vote for someone who stands on their principles and doesnt bend or pander, yet he's willing to vote for McCain if McCain makes promises to change positions on key issues.

What do you call this? Business as usual!

Romney thinks he's doing whats good for the RePub. Party by supporting McCain.
He doesnt want to give the dems an opportunity to win and......surrender the war on terror! I bet people forgot Romney is Bush-lite!! He thinks McCain (Bush III) can win the general election? With party leaders who think like this, the end result can only be.......The republican party is DOOMED!!

I live in Utah (90 per cent voted for Romney in the primary) and since Romney dropped out, all I hear from people and on talk radio is this...."There is no way I will ever vote for McCain. I will vote for Obama!"

Utah Primary breakdown....8% dem, 33% republican, 53% independent. There is definitely a storm brewing among conservatives!!

Personally, I think the Ron Paul Revolution should be the foundation for a new party!! It should draw from the other freedom and liberty parties/movements, those who are sympathetic to and will support what RP political ideology. The RPR needs to establish itself architecturally as an organization. It needs to evolve further. Organically. It need not assume an old form (mechanical). It need not be hierarchical or have one center.

That would probably be the most difficult task....creating a new organization based on liberty and freedom. In my mind that means a dynamic and open system. I think more and more of us should start educating ourselves and start thinking out of the box on how to do this.

With Paul staying in the republican nomination till the end, how do we pick up the pieces? Should we pick up the pieces? Will they be worth picking up?

Hi Karrl,

We are down here in Nevada and feel the same way.
We should do something about this. Thinking out of the box is a start. How about every one of RP supporters joining the Constitution Party and giving REAL validity to that party. Maybe a whole group of us should have a rally up there to try to swing support? any ideas are welcome.

regards,
Brooklyn

This is what I sent (infer from the sports analogy that I won't d/c my cable as much as I'd love to do so but that's another forum). My leaving the name out of the good doctor was intentional as my intuition is that, once they see his name, they probably immediately hit the "delete" button:

Hello,

Just thought I'd inform you that, as a registered Republican, I won't be casting a vote in the President category in November should Senator McCain be the Republican nominee. Indeed I will cast votes for the other offices and measures to do my civic duty but there is no way I would be able to look my child in the eye years from now and tell her that I compromised my values to choose the lesser of two evils.

Some talk radio shows I've heard have said things like, "What would be best for America?" as if putting aside my beliefs to counter a party to which I do not belong is more important than trying to recover our own. Voting for McCain to me is like rooting for Michael Vick just because he's wearing my team's jersey. Of course I realize the senator is not a criminal, but one might argue that the policies he has authored could be considered at least infractions against conservative principles. This will not get me to cheer or even vote for the player that is using our team to his advantage. As he is so popular among independents, why doesn't he join his supporter Senator Lieberman and become a member of the American Independent Party himself? Then at least the players would be on their most fitting respective teams and we can see how the game plays out.

We sent our letters out today and are encouraging everyone to do the same.
keep the ball rolling......

I'd put the emails back in it and forward it to The Huffington Post, Wonkette, and F****dCompany.com, too.

I just sent them this:
It's inarguable that Ron Paul has stood for the same ideals as our founding fathers and the GOP for 30-some years. It's also inarguable that the GOP has stood and watched while the largely Liberal media props up John McCain and completely ignores Paul. Now the party is in shambles and is guaranteed to lose in the general election to whomever the Democrats nominate if McCain is our representative there.
If you wish to win my vote in November and have a chance at the nation, I urge you to do everything possible to continue Ron Paul's campaign. Make it known within the party that McCain will lose. Demand the media pay attention to all 3 candidates. Clarify to them the rules of the primaries, delegates, and national convention. Stand up to your roots and acknowledge your true support.

I wrote a political party a letter, which I have never done before either.

Here it is (hope it is ok):

It greatly saddens me that our once great party has declined so greatly!

I would have worded this line differently.

I'd send one, but since I've only been a registered republican for about a month now I'm not sure exactly how much weight that will carry. :p
