Pittsburgh Rally August 3rd

OK, the Butler County Food Bank group has been designated as the chosen one to receive all the generous donations of non-perishable items that all the RP supporters will be bringing (I really hope!) to the rally tomorrow.

Seeing that the Sheraton is the collection point and it is in Butler county it was the recommended organization - apparently the food bank system is very territorial!

As far as your kind offer of a truck - were you offering to provide a truck that already has collected food OR was it so food that was collected at the rally can be dropped off at the local food bank? (not understanding for sure your offer)

In any case I will PM you to discuss this a bit more!

Again Thank You for ALL your assistance and concern.

ALSO, I would like to THANK in Advance EVERYONE that is bringing SPAM donations (any non-perishables) to the Rally! :D

Be There or Be Square!!!

Which food bank is this because I wasn't aware there was one in Butler County. Do they have a website or something I could look at for more information?

I think Spirit of 76 was saying he would offer his truck to take the donations to the place. Not that he has a truck full of stuff.

Before it gets too busy, I just want to say the Pittsburgh Meetup will be out in force. You'll see us in the white and blue t-shirts saying PA Supports Ron Paul.

We're also having an afterparty where we hear Ron will be coming to shake hands with some of his most loyal supporters. If you're curious about it and you're going to be down here, make sure you ask one of us and we'll tell you where it is.

It should run from 10 pm to 1 am or so.

All the fashionable people will be there. :)

Yours,
Tom

I'll see yall there - most of us WV crew folks will be coming to your party Tom. Thanks for throwin it, man!

I'm definitly bringing some canned goods, too.

Pittsburgh Food Bank turned me on to BC Food Bank - their phone number is 724-284-5125 and I think it is part of Butler County government. I think they divide and help all the food banks in that county.

I called a few FB's and either were not open Friday or were too small or needed more time to organize a pick up. Did not think the Sheraton would allow any storage of goods.

Heading out in a couple of hours from the Fingerlakes area of NY. Anyone know about wi-fi access? I'd like to blog from the rally.

Never mind about the wifi question. They have it available. See everyone there!

The rally was great tonight. There were a TON of people there. Probably about 1,500+ or so!

I even got a picture with Ron! ;)

Are you SERIOUS!! That would be the biggest event so far, WOW. How did you come to that number? Any word on video?

Gambling 911 was there is claiming that 2,000 might be a "conservative number" for the attendance... That would be incredible but I'll need more confirmation before I believe it...

Gambling911.com's Kira Wissman was expecting a room with maybe 100 people at a Mars, Pennsylvania rally for Dr. Paul. She ended up fighting her way through some 2000 plus people. That number, Wissman admits, may have been a conservative figure.

Well I got there and the room was already packed with people. They had to open up the rooms several times because so many people were standing at first. We were thinking 2,000 ppl at the rally, but I don't want to get anyone's hopes up here. lol

We tried to take video but since we were so far back it wasn't worth it with heads and signs getting in the way every 5 seconds.

Everyone is still having fun at Hereford, so I don't expect to see a video up until tomorrow morning. :p

Edit:
The most exciting part of tonight was when we turned down the road to our house and we saw..*gasp* a Ron Paul sign in one of my neighbor's yards! I might have to go knock on that person's door tomorrow. hehe

And the snowball grows.

Birdlady, sorry I didn't get to meet you. Maybe next time.

I don't know about that 2,000 number. There were 700 chairs in the room before they removed the divider. I don't know how many were behind the divider.

It certainly was standing room only, tough!
