Photos of Voter Card with Ron Paul scratched out: NY

There should be someone from the grassroots at every polling place in KS and every other state from now on. Stealthy-like to keep an eye on the situation.

I hope to God this isn't a hoax/troll plant that makes RP look bad.

Never give up! We cannot have more war, and this is what is coming! Even though to challenge this will take quite some time, I imagine, it is better than lying down with the dogs! Keep fighting, and doing what is right!

Everyone is jumping to conclusions. It looks more like some voter who didn't like Ron Paul wrote on the voter card. Is there any evidence that all of the voter cards were tampered with like this one? It's unfortunate but if this was an isolated incident we don't need to cry foul because it was probably some dumb kid thinking he/she was funny.

If this wasn't an isolated incident, then surely some Paul voters noticed and would make a bigger deal of this.

Go fuck yourself

So someone used a ballpoint pen to scratch out Paul's name? What proof is there that this was done to all the ballots? I am not saying it happened, but from what I have seen there lies the possibility that someone just made this up...more or less.

If you haven't read the thread and thus not fully informed, don't comment.

It's Gray by the way, and yes I'm a 'newbie', but I'm also a realist.

It's unfortunate that poll workers and a police officer gave out false information relating to a candidate still being in the race. Unless this was a wide-spread issue that can be documented by witnesses it's a lost cause.

I'm on these boards 24/7 but hardly ever post. This is the first time I've heard of Ron Paul's name being crossed off a voter card. WHERES the other voters who came across this in THEIR precincts? Oh and maybe the person just happened to cross of Rudy's name as well. I mean LOOK at the picture. It looks like some amateur crossed off the names, not an official poll worker.

There's a difference?

This needs to be brought to justice! People need to be able to cast their votes again for misleading the public.

"Now to what happened last night for the actual Ron Paul supporters:

76 year old woman goes to vote in afternoon at Giblyn School in Freeport, Long Island. Is told that Ron Paul is not on the ballot. His name is crossed out. She is upset that she can't vote for Ron Paul.

She goes home and tells her son, Gabe. A Delegate for Ron Paul. He goes to the voting poll to find out what she is talking about. He is told that Ron Paul dropped out and is no longer on the ballot. His name has been locked the entire day. There are 2,100 voters in this voting district who did not have the choice of Ron Paul for the entire day. He calls the police.

The police come down to find out what the problem is. Gabe tells them and one of the two police go out to the car to speak to the Sargent of Freeport Village police. The officer comes back in only to tell Gabe that Sargent Essex does not understand what the problem is since Ron Paul dropped out of the race.

News 12 was called and The Daily News was informed. ABC news was too busy to take this story."

8th post down the first page.

If People who drop out are no longer on ballots then why the hell did Guliani get 10 percent in California??

Jesus Christ. I didn't realize it was this bad. Is there a central location where all of this is being recorded and evidence being gathered? The picture itself is pretty damning, but I would like to see more just to see how much more widespread it is.

This is infuriating -- I am probably one of the rare people on here who supported Al Gore in 2000 because I thought Bush was a big corporation man and he would fuck up the country (boy, was I right). I supported Kucinich in 2004. So, I've been following the voter fraud for awhile.

Part of what we can do from here on out, is make sure that we have someone at the polling stations making sure that there is no fraud occurring. I don't know if wearing RP gear is a good idea or not for this individual, but it needs to be done. And if that person even sees a hint of fraud, they need to contact the police immediately. The police have to file a report -- hence, more proof.

I know that there is already a concerted effort to watch the polls for fraud, but maybe we should start to organize people specifically for being the watchdog. Maybe the Huck supporters would like to throw their weight in on this one -- I'm sure they probably have been affected by it too.

Sorry - should I claim n00biness?

I guess I just went overboard because I'm so upset that this could be happening within our system.

Voters are told pen had 'invisible ink'
BLANK BALLOTS | Staffers try to reach 20 who thought they'd voted

February 6, 2008
BY ANNIE SWEENEY Staff Reporter/[email protected]

When it comes to election shenanigans, Chicago has been accused of just about everything.

But invisible ink?

Twenty voters at a Far North Side precinct who found their ink pens not working were told by election judges not to worry.

It's invisible ink, officials said. The scanner will count it.

But their votes weren't recorded after all.

"Part of me was thinking it does sound stupid enough to be true,'' said Amy Carlton, who had serious doubts but went ahead and voted anyway.

As it turns out, Carlton was one of 20 voters at the precinct who were given the wrong pen to use. They were also then told, apparently by a misinformed judge, that the pens have invisible ink, elections officials said.

As a result, the votes were not counted. But officials insisted there were no dirty tricks involved.

"This one defies logic,'' said Jim Allen, a spokesman for the Chicago Board of Elections. "You try to anticipate everything. But certain things just ... they go beyond any kind of planning you can perform.''

By late afternoon, five voters had been contacted and told to come back to the polling place to vote again. And elections staff had left messages at the homes of the rest, Allen said.

Carlton and Angela Burkhardt, another voter who was told the same invisible ink story, spent a good part of the day calling and e-mailing the Board of Elections to get answers.

"I am furious and devastated and I just feel stupid,'' Carlton said. "I feel so angry.''

Both women agreed that this election meant a lot. They had spent a good deal of time researching candidates.

"I have been voting since I was 18,'' said Carlton, 38. "This is the most important election of my life so far.''

Burkhardt planned to go back to vote late Tuesday. She worried about those who might not be able to return.

"I worry about the other people who were there,'' she said. "Maybe [they] can't get off work. I am a person of privilege. I can go back. What if you couldn't?"
