I have a few dozen firearms, maybe we could all work together and just bypass the elections with an overthrow?

See the problems with doing things the wrong way, even if for the right reasons?

Sometimes that is appropriate. There is no reason for an armed overthrow however.

There is valid reason for picketing their phones.

So, are they going to arrest several hundred thousand of us for making phone calls? I'm not really concerned about some petty grey area that may or may not be construed as an illegal act. The REAL illegal act here is the intentional manipulation of a federal election by a licensed broadcaster. A phone bomb should be the least of their concerns.

Exactly.

If Americans are afraid of even making cordinated phone calls for fear of doing something "illegal", where will be their courage if there ever comes a time when Americans have to get real radical and be forced to raise arms?

We're the home of the brave, right?

Calling Faux New is Not a DOS attack

What is the problem about calling Faux news and letting them know that we are upset that they are excluding Dr. RP. This is no DOS attack.

It's immature, counter productive, and will ensure some very negative publicity.

An illegal, DOS attack on fox's phone network? Come the fuck on, use some common sense....

If we are going to do this, we might as well break into the homes of Fox network execs, and rape their children, and wives, or maybe burn down their houses after we rape them!!! Oooh I know, how bout a dirty bomb in times square!!!!

Seriously, what the fuck message do you want to send here? A message of peace, freedom and maturity, or a message of home grown terrorism. I am starting to think they are right, after watching the children on here behave like this.

I am on board with this idea if we agree to keep the calls polite and informative. We don't want Faux News using our own calls as propaganda.

Unfortunately there are extremist Ron Paul supporters (as with any campaign) who will make us look bad, but the majority of us can be positive.

Hey guys, I know that we love using the word "bomb" around here, but try using that at an airport and you'll find it isn't an appropriate word. Same goes for any phone calls you make -- "we're phone bombing FoxNews" is NOT a legal phrase you can throw around. No mention of bombs at all, please be polite.

And I do not want this project to be called a phone bomb either. If this is reported, "Ron Paul supporters threaten to bomb the phones of fox news". See how quickly that can be misinterpreted?

Less is more. No names like that , please.

I'm quite sure that overtaking a ship and dumping tea in the harbor was illegal too. Im glad that our founding fathers were not pussies.

Yes, I agree... let's lose the word "bomb". How about "phone blitz"?

Now, the next thing we have to do is get the main phone numbers for Fox News. I could only find a toll free number on their web page. Does anyone know how to get their main phone numbers (i.e., newsroom, advertising department, etc.)? The phone blitz won't be effective if we don't have all of the main numbers covered.

I'm calling to express my concern about fair and balanced coverage of a PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. If there are so many Ron Paul supporters that happen to do the same thing that's not my concern. What I am doing is legal, what everyone is doing is legal if they are calling to express their opinions. If a consequence of that is their phone lines go down, so be it.

I am not going to suppress myself because their phone system might not handle it. Besides, as you can read below, they do want our input. Well, I'm going to let them know.

We want YOUR input! Tell us what you love, tell us what you hate ... just don't keep it to yourself! As a FOX Fan, you'll have a unique opportunity to make your voice heard and affect change at FNC. Below, you'll find a few ways to contact us. BUT, if you're more of a phone person, you can call us at 1-888-369-4762.

Letters of protest will be thrown away by the truck load. E-mail messages will be deleted in mass.

A rally outside of the debate will be ignored by the MSM (although the idea floating around about having NBC cover the rally may have merit... but I doubt if NBC would do it).

Making calls to the FEC should be made but will probably result in a form letter being sent to you four or five months from now (if you're lucky).

Threats of boycotting Faux News' advertisers may do some good and should be pursued, but that may have limited results

But consider what thousands of calls per hour would do to them... it would tie up their phone lines to a point to where they could no longer do business. Back in the 1990s, we (Council on Domestic Relations) were in a battle to stop state calls for a Constitutional Convention. During this battle, we organized calls to the Michigan State Legislature which overwhelmed their phone system. No calls got in... no calls got out. They called and begged us to "call off the dogs".

This needs to be done in an organized manner (pick a day or days, phone numbers to call, etc.). We need to be relentless... hitting the redial button as many times as it takes to get through. When you get through, we should voice our disgust at their abhorrent actions. Then, hang up and call again.

The success of this plan requires getting the correct phone numbers... numbers used by their operations, not general public phone numbers.

Before we take the time and energy to research these phone numbers, organize the dates, times, etc., we need to see if there is enough support to make this work. The results of the poll here should give us an idea if there is support for this.

I am upset also.

But do NOT represent Paul this way. He would never approve.

And it lets the LSM paint us as "kooks" with more "evidence" from our own actions.

So you would rather sit back and watch our country be sold to the highest bidder with contracts and false media?

Ignore people who say this tame act of a civil display of suport for a fair election will give a bad reputation or is not mature. They dont have any good ideas, and have very little to contribute. If you are afraid of being called a kook by a kook, or afraid of doing something that proper "mature people" would think of as uncivil, and you let that stand in the way of taking action, then you probably dont understand the stakes involved dont realize the sacrifices and risks others are taking, but we'll fight for your rights and your freedoms anway, because you are a human being and you too, have the right to freedom.

You can have your safe little world and keep the status quo, but I believe change and freedom is worth fighting for. And right now this is how we fight.

BTW read all of jeff_va's posts, make your own judgement.

Ron Paul has stated that "peaceful civil disobedience" is an acceptable action. A phone blitz on a holder of broadcast license who plans a blatant act of misuse of its power with the intentions of manipulating the outcome of a federal election is an acceptable form of peaceful civil disobedience. It is nothing more than an organized exercise of free speech... hardly the act of "kooks".

I think we should be considered kooks if we just sit on our asses and do nothing. If that's what is to come of this movement, then it was doomed from the beginning. Its time to wake up and accept the fact that this is a battle (peaceful thus far) to save our country - it isn't some joke or game. I took my oath to the Constitution seriously. I'm glad the founding father's had the balls to commandeer that ship and deep-six the tea. Ringing Fox's phones off the hook is the least I can do to uphold that oath. Looking at the results of the poll I posted, 87% agree with me.

I originally voted "yes", but I have changed my mind. I would be very willing to call Fox in protest to their actions, and probably will do so. However, it will play badly if this is an overt attempt to "shut down" their phone lines.

That said, we need to use our power (ie. our numbers) to make ourselves heard. We need to call them - All of us. But, we must not be malicious in our efforts. A little tact would serve us well.

Do you catch my drift?

Perhaps my intent was lost in all of this. If enough phone calls are generated that their phones are completely tied up, it will show Fox that the blow back of their actions is more than they bargained for. Their concession in the form of including RP in the debates is the sole goal of the phone blitz.

Also, the calls should be made in a professional manner. We should not look like a bunch of loose cannons.

If I call someone who does not have a second line and call waiting that is a DOS, since no one else can call.

There Is No Forum, Stop Calling.

it was misreported in the Associated Press; the forum was canned weeks ago. Lots of misinformation going on. See the Fox News thread on the main page for deets.
