Letters of protest will be thrown away by the truck load. E-mail messages will be deleted in mass.

A rally outside of the debate will be ignored by the MSM (although the idea floating around about having NBC cover the rally may have merit... but I doubt if NBC would do it).

Making calls to the FEC should be made but will probably result in a form letter being sent to you four or five months from now (if you're lucky).

Threats of boycotting Faux News' advertisers may do some good and should be pursued, but that may have limited results

But consider what thousands of calls per hour would do to them... it would tie up their phone lines to a point to where they could no longer do business. Back in the 1990s, we (Council on Domestic Relations) were in a battle to stop state calls for a Constitutional Convention. During this battle, we organized calls to the Michigan State Legislature which overwhelmed their phone system. No calls got in... no calls got out. They called and begged us to "call off the dogs".

[Admin - removed suggestion of problematic activity] [NOTE TO ADMIN: I'M NOT SURE WHAT PART OF MY MESSAGE YOU DELETED, BUT I HAVE NEVER SUGGESTED ANY ACTIVITY THAT WASN'T 100% LEGAL AND APPROPRIATE]

The success of this plan requires getting the correct phone numbers... numbers used by their operations, not general public phone numbers.

Before we take the time and energy to research these phone numbers, organize the dates, times, etc., we need to see if there is enough support to make this work. The results of the poll here should give us an idea if there is support for this.

Monday is probably best, We can do it tomorrow as well, but a week day will have a better effect i think.

I disagree on Monday. We want to make sure that every single executive is back from vacation, which would mean after New Year's Day.

Excellent idea. If we vote for this option, we need to spread the details all over the web.

no, I think I would rather continue to talk one on one with people about Ron Paul. I feel personally it would be a waste of my time.

You can do both. It takes about 5 minutes to call... then you can go do something more productive and at the same time participate in this protest.

It's immature, counter productive, and will ensure some very negative publicity.

An illegal, DOS attack on fox's phone network? Come the fuck on, use some common sense....

If we are going to do this, we might as well break into the homes of Fox network execs, and rape their children, and wives, or maybe burn down their houses after we rape them!!! Oooh I know, how bout a dirty bomb in times square!!!!

Seriously, what the fuck message do you want to send here? A message of peace, freedom and maturity, or a message of home grown terrorism. I am starting to think they are right, after watching the children on here behave like this.

I respect your opinion. I do, however, feel that this would not be a waste of time as the disruption of their business could be enough to get RP into the debate. His absence will be very detrimental to his candidacy because sadly, there are a great many Americans who think that, if they don't see him in the debate, then he must "not have a chance". I just spent three days with my own mother who kept making that argument. "I never see him on TV, so he doesn't have a chance." she stubbornly repeated.

Thanks for your feedback!

There is nothing illegal about RP Supporters calling to protest Faux News' actions. WTF is a DOS attack?

Lets do it for a few days. How about the 2nd and 3rd.........Even if there's blowback who cares? What will they say? That we're mad because their F###ing over Paul....They already make shit up anyways. They'll say what they want anyways....Who cares about blowback...

Just like Michigan... Just like Iowa... Just like South Carolina...
You obvious haven't been around long... this isn't our first rodeo... you need to grow the fuck up and get some balls. This is politics not pre-school recess. You aren't going to make friends with these people and they aren't going to play nice.
We have succeeded everytime before... and we will not loose this skirmish.
You are invited to stay home and lock your doors. it will be safer that way.

OMFG-ONOZ.gif

What kind of blowback do you think would occur? The worst I could predict would be that we'd make headlines. What am I missing here?

I think you are right, what are they going to do/say to make things worse? they already censor Dr. Paul, they already disrespect him...

I doubt they would even cover it...it makes them seem vulnerable

An organized effort to bring down a network is most certainly illegal. DOS attack is Denial Of Service.

This is not an attempt to voice concern, the title of the thread is "Shut down their phone lines" and is an attempt to prevent them the use of their phone systems by method of distributed attack. It is a crime, and will look real petty when played out on the news....

I think you have an obligation to contact the appropriate authorities.. and for your own safety, you should no longer associate with us criminals.

I think we should target the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th as those are the three business days leading up to the weekend of the debate. Three days would be significant enough to really mess up their operations.

It'll just perpetuate the idea that we're a bunch of crazy spammers, plus the more we aggravate FOX before they relent and invite him (which we know they will, it's only a matter of time) the worse they'll treat Ron when he finally gets on.

Don't participate in it then...I'll be the first to call in, if they want to arrest me for this...go right ahead..
