Peter Schiff talks about how he plans to revolutionize campaigning

so who's the guy here bitching about peter whining? thats ironic.

give him a chance people and dont let one gripe get you down... peters in it for the long haul, with some publicity he can take off.. lets all give him a push and our support.

When Schiff starts campaigning, this is what I hope it will look like:

Map of Campaign Appearances with Dates

I live in CA, and have been following Chuck Devore's campaign for senate. That primary is on June 8th 2010. Look at all the appearances he already has, now that's commitment!

If he ever decides to start I will be more than happy to bitch about it.

You haven't even watched the video, because one of the first things that he says is that the primary isn't until next AUGUST... and you are saying June up in that post up there..

He had commitments that he made before he decided to run. He is holding those commitments and not making any additional commitments so that he can focus on the campaign when his prior commitments have been completed.

Yes, but he was a politician before, whereas Peter has an actual job with prior commitments.

The first minute or two of the first video Peter explains all this.. I dunno why all these people are commenting in this thread without watching the video.

Isn't there a convention in June with all the party insiders before the August primary? If I'm not mistaken, Peter has to get 15% of the party rank and file to support him in the June convention -- just to get his name on the ballot in August's primary. That's no small feat.

As far as his previous commitments, does he really have so many that he can't begin to campaign as well? I have a hard time believing that he has no time to go to party events.

That's true. Or you can collect a lot of republican signatures to get on the ballot.

Schiff has these two conferences, after that he'll be a lot more in CT. Watch his youtube channel or listen to WSU, he talks about the campaign all the time. I'm also guessing that he's going to start campaigning in these two weeks once he gets his team 100% ready, the site updated (ISSUES pages) and the database stuff is made ready for action.

I'm on part 8 of the presentation. "Congress and Obama would have to listen to me explain this. Look how long I can talk; imagine me filibustering" - Or something like that, I thought it sounded pretty good :D.

You guys need to calm down. Schiff had prior obligations with his job, he has already said once those are done(which will be shortly) he is going to start campaigning 100%.

As for the Rand comment, not sure where you get that he is a war-hawk. I'm not gonna bother asking about the anti-capitalism which I know you link to his abortion stance, but the war-hawk makes no sense to me. Either way I'm supporting both candidates.

I love the apparent sectarianism on this board.

The fact of the matter is that Peter Schiff has prior commitments he has to honor. After that is done with, he can campaign.

Now compare that to Rand Paul: Rand already was a leader of the Kentucky Taxpayers Union, so he already has time set aside to do political activites; also, Rand was a doctor so he didn't have the same type of commitments that Schiff has; lastly, the primaries in CT are much later than the primaries in KY.

Any more peabrains here want to split the liberty movement?

Alright - knock off the bashing of candidates. If you don't support one of them, just don't bother posting in his subforum.

Anyway, I think this is a good idea. This is one way that Schiff can get his out-of-state-support to campaign for him. I think that this is pretty genius. I want to get involved with this and I hope other RPF members will too.

For $2.95 a month, one can get unlimited calls to landlines and cellphones in the US and Canada through Skype. So if a few RPF members would be willing to sacrifice some of their leisure time and a few dollars for a few months, we could really turn Connecticut politics around.

Yes, but I'll be surprised if calls cannot be made through the website that they establish for this database.

I'm glad that I never entered this thread until now. ;) Stop whining and let Peter run his campaign as he sees fit. Like Ron Paul, it's Peter's campaign to win or lose. Yes, for the sake of liberty we'd like to see him win, but even if he loses, we'll still profit from his campaign similar to Ron Paul's run for POTUS. Peter's a sharp guy so I'm looking forward to his campaign whether he wins or loses this particular race. Our movement can't help but benefit from his campaign in both new ideas on campaigning and exposure of our ideas within Connecticut.
