Perfect way to end the day...

So damn sick of being sick time for a change. Time for a different "medicinal." Maker's on the rocks. Finish the last of this bottle so I can hit the store tomorrow for New Year's. Might have to give a new brand of top shelf Kentucky bourbon whiskey a try. I'll have to see what's stocked.

Have one, for me.

Missed this last night so I'll have one in your honor now. Got another bottle of Maker's for the house. However, decided on a change for New Years/B-Day and picked up a bottle of Blanton's to try.

Missed this. It's a damn good Kentucky bourbon in spite of it's marketing ploys.

I did have myself one of your kinda drinks a coupla months ago. It was made with Maker's, crushed black cherries, orange bitters and....something. I'll have to call down there and find out what the last ingredient was. Pretty damn good. Ended up drinking three.

A shipmate tipped me off to these, and I'll have to give one a try sometime.

Old time "Nawlins" drink:

The Sazerac

Standard garnish: Lemon peel

Drinkware: Old Fashioned glass

Made a variation for myself.

Tito's vodka and equal parts orange and grapefruit juice with an ounce of Grenadine.

You Yank's won't like it but for the Southers I've made a Fire Fly. Makes a nice sweet tea vodka. Just add ice and squeeze some lemon. Their jello wedges would probably appeal to Suzanimal. :p

Fly Jello Wedges
1 cup water, boiling
1 cup Firefly Sweet Tea Flavored Vodka
1 envelope of lemon jello
6-8 lemons
Cut lemons in half, then hollow out. Take a paper towel and remove as much moisture as possible. Add one envelope lemon jello to boiling water and stir for 2 minutes. Add in cup of Firefly. Place each lemon half in a muffin tin, fill each with your jello mixture. Refrigerate over night. When hardened, slice wedges off of the lemon halves and Enjoy!

Actually, I'm having this stuff. It was a free sample Mr. Animal brought home from work last week. It would make great jello shots but I'm having it with a splash of cranberry juice. I'm not classy like the Federalist family, I'm drink my booze out of a coffee cup - all the glasses are in the dishwasher.:o

And what kind of job does Mr. Animal have, that he gets free vodka samples?

Clearly, I am doing something wrong.

That's my kind of work.

This will grind Phill's gears, but you can't get more southern than a bourbon mint julep.

OIC...gotcha.

Let's see how this would work out:

A semi retired sea captain who opens a bar...

Hmmmmm...

Sounds like a bad sit-com.

Or the beginning of a smart ass remark by Danke.

:D

A bartender is hoping to lure drinkers into what he predicts will be the next big thing – semen cocktails.

Yes, you read that right. Paul ‘Fotie’ Photenhauer is currently pedalling his latest tome, Semenology – The Semen Bartender’s Handbook.

Oh wait a minute it's Seamen, not semen.

OH...oh that's just nasty.

Better this:

Mother Russia

A cocktail similar to a "White Russian" using breast milk instead of cream.

Mother Russia is a cocktail consisting of

* 1 oz. Vodka
* 0.5 oz. Coffee Liqueur
* 2 oz. Breast Milk
* 1 sprinkle(s) nutmeg
