Perfect way to end the day...

Glenfiddich and Glenlivet are two very solid, affordable 12 year old Scotches.

Highly recommended for the not rich but value oriented folks around here.

The Glenlivet in particular you can get 15, 18 + year but they start getting a lot pricier.

They 750ML bottle of 18 year old is just over 100$. The 12 year old is 55$. (In Ontario there's a lot of liquor tax, might be less where you are).

Thank you for the info. I think I saw Glenlivet for 35-45$ at Safeway in Hilo. My best shot for value would be Costco over Kona side. I'll check it out the next time I get over there.

God damn, if that's the case...

I would LOVE for 40$ Glenlivet.

DAMN YOU SOCILIAZED MEDICINE AND LIQUOR TAXES TO PAY FOR IT!!

I'm tellin you guys, if you're going to drink scotch go for the single malt Islays. The peat is amazingly smokey, earthy and leathery.

16 year Lagavulin is a steal if you can get it for $65/bottle, which is pretty common, otherwise it retails for about $80. That is by far my favorite bottle of alcohol for under $100.

If you want to try a cheap one, Laphroaig is usually about $40 or so a bottle, but the flavor just keeps getting better as you go up in price.

I've found a new drink concoction:

I call it: the Drunken Mistake.

It's let's say: 2 ounces of bourbon, 6 ounces of Monster and a few ounces of orange juice.

You drink half of that, then accidentally add a few ounces of beer to the wrong cup.

And with that, you have the, "Drunken Mistake". (TM)

So damn sick of being sick time for a change. Time for a different "medicinal." Maker's on the rocks. Finish the last of this bottle so I can hit the store tomorrow for New Year's. Might have to give a new brand of top shelf Kentucky bourbon whiskey a try. I'll have to see what's stocked.
