People of Lakota Launch Private Bank for Only Silver and Gold Currencies

Everyone, please remember that the Lakotah Nation was not declared by a functioning government. This was not the vote of a recognized reservation declaring independence. This was a handful of people who declared a piece of land independent. While many Native Americans support the concept in theory, its independence has little support both in and out of the Native American community.

These coins are no different than if I got with a couple of my neighbors, declared our street an independent nation, and started minting currency. I like the concept of Lakotah, but know better than to invest in its money.

I wonder if they are willing to sell allodial rights within their sovereign territory?

If so, it would be the IDEAL place for free staters to move, as we could REALLY buy the land, and never owe taxes to anyone for all time!

That would be ideal really... That would become the free state project

While I do echo the caution that we should take brought up by other posts here, I would just like to take a sec to remind us all that the Republican Party and the MSM have done everything they can to make Ron Paul look like a nutcase. This man seems only to be seeking freedom and justice.

This case might not be totally dissimilar. Why won’t those sheeple wake up? Sound familiar?

How much is the Lakota bank charging for their 1oz .999 fine silver coins? Are they selling them at the '50' AOCS level? The same way Liberty Dollar did it?

It seems to me this is just a Liberty Dollar zombie. More people trying to run a pseudo MLM based on the mass of liberty-lovers trying to find a sound money haven.

Anyway, if anyone knows how much they're actually charging for their 1oz silver lakota coins let me know.

Wow that's awesome. So do they accept Fed notes? Hmm maybe I need to convert my money to silver. I find this idea the same as Amish who say F U to the system and they are free to do as they wish. I know Amish have their religious beliefs that cause them to be exempt from S.S(Social Security) and taxes too? haha I never noticed it had the same abbreviation of Hitler's SS.

Gary Garrison of the BIA said that the group's withdrawal "doesn't mean anything". "These are not legitimate tribal governments elected by the people ... when they begin the process of violating other people's rights, breaking the law, they're going to end up like all the other groups that have declared themselves independent - usually getting arrested and being put in jail".

! from Wikipedia.

Native Americans can't seem get a break around here...

That's not as bad as LD at least. Still a lot better deals out there though.

What's with that site though? It looks like a site I'd slap together in a few hours as a favor to someone. Who is www.freemarketmetals.com?

The whois record says the domains owned by some dude in Texas (edit: person is Rob Gray, I guess he was on CGN with somebody else as well talking about it).

In any event, I still don't see the advantage to this bank over GoldMoney.

any updates on this? i just stumbled across this thread. i have a cabin a few miles away from hill city!

I've heard Russell Means interviewed on the Alex Jones show a while back. You should try to find the interview if possible. Would it be wrong for non native Americans to move there or even have something like the FSP separate from the Lakotah nation? I understand that they are losing their culture and CPS is taking their children away and putting them into 'modern American' foster homes and respect that they do not want to lose their identity.

EDIT:

Highly recommend: AJ interview (3parts in a playlist) March 5 2008

A more recent interview I haven't heard yet: AJ/Means interview (3 part playlist) Jan 09 2009

So what happened with their bank? Is it real? Was it a scam?

Actually I did read of two banks in the 1600 that operated out of honesty. Murrary Rothbard's History of Money. I think they were Austrian.

This is awesome! Did you see the silver coins they have? Do you think we can put gold and silver into an account which earns interest?

I am so excited you don't even know.

BTW, the bank website is http://www.freelakotabank.com. I just discovered it so I'm still looking around for details.

EDIT: Wow, looks like a scam. It looks like I'm late in realizing this. :-|
