Penn, Stern, Beck host show at march idea

Is there any chance we could get some real big names to guest speak? Howard, Penn, Glen Beck or Mancow could host their radio shows from the march.

OMG Howard Stern would be the best one to have show that kind of support! He himself was astounded that he had never even heard of RP before this January. He was watching TV and saw RP. He said "I'm not sure but I think I agreed with everything that guy just said!"

anyone could be paid to go?????? not a bad idea to get some real celebrities going to get a larger crowd to THEN here the message. Seems like a great marketing strategy, obama has oprah, hillary has her husband, huck has chuck, mccain has the devil and ron paul could have a TON of different famous people there just to bring in a larger crowd.

All they need to do is HEAR the views and realize why the current way of doing things as a WHOLE is flawed and will NOT get better with "change" or "100 years of war" but with complete change of our economic, foreign and homeland policies.

Whatever "treats" we can use to get MORE people there I say the better.

I think the general idea of getting "big names" to speak and having talk show hosts simulcast from the march is an excellent one. Kudos to the OP. We can debate the choices later - or now.....

Well the idea, to get big names, is a good one. But some need a reality check here.

Any of those big names you see on tv or hear on radio won't be there because we are the movement that the conditioned America is afraid of.

You need to wake up to this reality.

Believe me when I tell you I woke up about a year and a half ago. However, there are mavericks in the media, as well as in talk radio who just might go for this if we do it right and are inclusive with our message. This is the beauty of Ron Paul people, they span completely across the spectrum because his message is so pure. I really don't think you have to necessarily be a supporter of the man and his campaign in order to be a supporter of the message that he brings. I think the focus should be more on the message of peace, prosperity, freedom, and the restoration of the Constitution. Now who in their right mind doesn't want these things? (the establishment notwithstanding)

Celebrities and Ron Paul

I think it would be wonderful to have well-liked and respected celebrities at the march; as participants, speakers, entertainers, etc. Some like Howerd Stern would be controversial enough that any sign of their support would almost do more harm than good (sort of like the brothel owner's "endorsement"). But the main problem is....

Celebrities that have made political statements have traditionally not been helpful to the cause of liberty. Some have personal foibles like Mel Gibson's tendencies to alcohol abuse and politically incorrect statements that the MSM will use to discredit any opinion that he might have. Some, like the Dixie Chicks, seemed to go out on a limb to oppose the war in Iraq early on. But now, when we have a true anti-war candidate and their support would REALLY make a difference, they are no where to be found. Others are disgusting hypocrites like Barbara Steisand with her environmental rhetoric telling us that WE should conserve energy while she keeps an entire house refrigerated to preserve her fur collection. Most are simply spineless (and mindless) tools of the establishment. They may make political gestures that SEEM unpopular at the time, but they are usually about topics of no lasting significance. For example, when was the last time that a celebrity said something that would have educated the American public about the national debt, Federal Reserve, vote fraud, illegal immigration, or even backed a candidate that was saying the truth about these things? Hmmmm. No, they are too busy talking about women's rights, global warming, saving the humped back whale, famine relief, etc. etc. etc. All worthy, wonderful causes but nothing that is going to rock the boat. And when all the smoke has cleared, its business as usual with the same goons in charge in Washington DC.

And this campaign is a prime example of how they could have a very great impact with very little risk or effort on their part.

I read somewhere, that to get the best media, you have to pay them. Is that true?

I don't advocate having to pay reporters to "fairly" represent our message...Dr. Paul's integrity and truth speaks for itself, but if we hired some of the best reporters for their "time," to cover this event, would this campaign get better reporting and keep our message focused so it doesn't turn into just a "music" thing?

Just wondering....what are your thoughts on this? Do events actually hire professionals to give positive reporting???

Yeah, I sent the Stern show an email last month thanking them for mentioning Ron Paul on air.

Exactly! If there were 100,000 people at the rally and ONE had on a 9/11 shirt Beck would spend the ENTIRE rally harping on that one person. Really people like Beck have done more to torpedo this campaign than anything else. Quit kissing up to him. He's not on our side.

Up until recently I would have said Lou Dobbs was one of those people. But then after he was silent when CNN smeared Ron Paul for his issue he was silent. So was Glen Beck. Later Lou Dobbs left Ron Paul out of a poll on "which presidential candidate would you most trust on the economy". I know Dobbs wasn't part of the OP, but if Dobbs can't be trusted how would anyone THINK of trusting Beck?

If any celebrities were to host they would have to be ones that we know are on our side, not just ones that some Ron Paul supporters think can be won over if we just kiss up enough. Howard Stern at least supports us, but he's too controversial. And Penn? Well with his blatant attacks on 9/11 truthers if he hosts you are ASKING for trouble. Of course I guess you could have Penn and Alex Jones co-host.

There is ONE person that actually would be good to have though. Drew Carrey. He's popular, not controversial, hasn't done anything to piss off any Ron Paul supporters (unlike Beck or Penn) and he donated $2,300 to the campaign.
