Pelosi says $150B economic stimulus plan needed

If what we need is more spending, here's my plan for saving the economy:

everyone buy me lots of new stuff! If ever person in this country buys me just 5 new things, we'll get out of this recession.
 
This is just a dirty move. People will start to like getting these 'free checks' from the government. Even though they take more than that out from the income tax.

She is just buying public support with it in my opinion. It's evil. We can't even pay off the $850 Billion they just passed with this stimulus. Take a bunch then give back a little.

I feel she is trying to bribe the public into defending this socialist garbage.
 
At this point, I'd call these actions pre-election pandering in an attempt to get re-elected.

I would, however, like to get more of my money back FROM the government. They're taxing me out the @ss. I'm paying THEM every month!

Just take your stimulus money and buy silver and gold...;use it to your advantage. I am going to STIMULATE the crap out of the economy if they send me a check. They are going to do it whether we like it or not...as we have just seen recently. We have no voice...just spend the fake money on real money. tones

It tells me that the majority of people have been brainwashed in two important ways.

One is to love socialism.

Two is to have no idea what socialism is.

Neither are upholding their oath to the Constitution and that's all that matters.

They are two wings of the same bird, corrupt Republicans are not better than corrupt Democrats.

You've done enough for us, Congress. Really. The unhindered (and even aided) inflation of the housing bubble followed by the theft of $850 billion worth of our tax money, which led to the stock market crash, was very kind of you, but we really can't take any more of your kindness. PLEASE. You're too kind. REALLY.

I remember being there not too long ago watching the anti-war protesters stream by on their bicycles - miles and miles of them. They shut the city down with their hatred of the war.

Pelosi promised to end it. She didn't.

They're still voting for her.. and this little bailout thing won't change their minds.

Yo, the ship is going down with these clowns in charge anyway, regardless of how you look at it.

If they want to send out checks again, that's fine by me. Last time they sent me a check I used it to buy a rifle and other supplies. This time, I'll probably do something similar. They steal my tax money left and right through every conceivable act of trickery and chicanery, inflate my savings and paycheck into oblivion, and will in the end reduce us all to poverty. Every extra dime I can spend now and in the near future to prevent or mitigate my family's suffering is well spent.

Send the checks. But they'd better send 'em quick before people wise up and realize the currency's worthless.

Edit: I totally agree that this is RETARDED, criminal, and downright unconstitutional. I'm not going to call my congressman and support it, by any means. I'll probably call and oppose it. But if they send it, I'm going to spend it well. I guess reading Palosi's remarks just made me mad.

How do I know that? History. The power of incumbency. The district demographics. However, I was careful not to say she'll be re-elected by the typical HUGE margin. Rather than getting 80% of the vote, she'll get maybe 60-70%. Sheehan will get a lot of votes, but unfortunately not enough to win. Voters just don't care enough to vote out people like Pelosi. All that voters care about is whether the name has a (D) or (R) next to it. That's really all the typical voter cares about.

Weren't they upset by the bailout? Yes, of course, but then again, not upset enough to stop voting for a party. I sincerely believe Pelosi could literally make Bush the Supreme Emperor or something, and she'd still win re-election. Just as long as she's got that (D).

Maybe I can take my economic stimulus check and buy a loaf of wonderbread.
