Cheapseats, we're having a festival, we're not protesting anything. The clean zone ordinance has to do with demonstrations and protests, etc.
The Veterans are marching AFTER our event. They are a separate event. The clean zone may apply to them.
I am PASSING ALONG PERTINENT INFORMATION to people who are NOT likely to be in a festive mood, come August. I anticipate there BEING some. You?
Do you anticipate NO arrests, for ANYTHING . . . not even for, say, Public Drunkenness or violation of some unknown "law"?
As you stated in the OP, you believe this event could potentially influence the unbound convention delegates. What are your contingency plans for the event if Romney secures the nomination by winning enough bound delegates prior to the RNC, or what are your plans if Paul drops out, suspends or goes 3rd party?
As I understand it, the CLEAN ZONE applies to everyone and everything within its boundary . . . specifically drawn to insulate the Republican National Convention.
Correct and I think a festival of this type would be considered a demonstration.
Hah! It appears the city council opened up a can of worms. LOL!
We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. The festival is going on, and if it goes according to plan...

Only if held inside the "clean zone." The fairgrounds are not inside any clean zone maps that I've seen.

...I don't see how that's going to be used against anybody.
I don't see how state after state can have vote-count irregularities without Americans having a good cry and "Foreigners" having a good laugh, but . . . ALL'S QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT.
I'm not saying nothing can happen, but let's not pretend it's an illegal protest inside their martial law area, either. I think I just provided the links so anyone can evaluate that for themselves.
I guess you can draw some connection between this event and vote fraud if you really want. By that logic, you can connect vote fraud to anything that could happen in the future, I suppose. You could keep busy that way for an infinite amount of time, even. I guess if vote fraud keeps you from attending Paul Festival, then ok.
When you live in a city, or even not in a city, you take chances stopping for gas, or even leaving your house. You take chances attending any Paul rally, or any big public event, for that matter. Yeah, I assume this event will raise your risk level a bit more than staying in your basement. I'll be taking my 5 year old and plan to ensure her safety. I'd never let her anywhere near the RNC.
THEY CAN DO WHATEVER . . . AND THEY DO DO WHATEVER. They have the combined weight of Law & Force on their "side." They have so much Law & Force on their side, they can change rules at will . . . AND enforce them.
Sure. I hear they're spending at least 50 million on "security," including 4k police and 1.7k national guard, snipers, DHS, etc. And I agree with many of the other things you said as well, but I don't see Paul Festival being their best place to go apeshit, or even a good place for it. In fact, I think it will be a rather self-regulating crowd even if some plants were thrown in the mix to cause trouble there.
I expect there will be plenty going on elsewhere once the RNC starts, probably full of provocateurs, etc.
