Paul Festival in Tampa Confirmed

to whom?

that's terrific if you were trying to help us. Thank you!

I have a few contacts with the people managing and organizing the 2012 RNC. I called them up and assured them that A) enough people would come to make it worthwhile (which I am sure of) and B) that it will be calm and peaceful (which I am less sure of). They promised me that they'd give the event a fair shake.

I'm not saying my support did anything- truthfully it might have done nothing, given the amount of people that ask for different things during the 2012 RNC. But since I don't know that I'm going to believe that it did help.

Edit: I was joking about B.

Hey now.. maybe they seriously should! Even if not serious.. inflatable ones would be awesome. :D

there.

more thinking like this.

Dusman knows that I like to mail stuff to people who might or might not want to use it in a project. (Black this out - which Dusman ran on the ground in NYC).

I know what tools I'll be sending to Tampa.

I'm not so sure about A. And B, well, what're we gonna do, fight with each other?

Our other events like that have all been calm and peaceful. And it would be kinda late for others to have motive to stir stuff up, I would think.

Thank you!

Just merge all the paul festival threads, and sticky it. We don't need a new thread every day.

the old ones the entire top is replaced with new info, though. the change (approval) would be buried. I agree the new ones could probably be merged.

Well, I'm hoping on A. I was joking about B.

For the ol' Permanent Record, I suggest (again) that it is FOLLY to proceed merrily along as though the resolve and ferocity of old-timer hardcore NOBP's has simply dissolved into generalized Acceptance, Serenity & Party Unity.

Happy to be wrong, but I'd be wrong and SURPRISED.

Not like we are the ones that have been breaking fingers, hips and punching people in the back of the head. Sheesh, AIN'T GONNA BE NO SNOWBALLS IN TAMPA!

Yeah, of course. I owe something to this forum, and I hope the festive will be a fun side event for me spend a few hours at.

Now, if the people at the festival were at the convention, that's a different story.

Right now, Paul Festival looks meh. If I'm using meh right.

I don't see too many people going to this because why. I was just looking at prices for 3 day music festivals. My local one, Kahbang, is really cheap. $40 if you buy the tix early. But other ones, ones that are better, are much more expensive. $300, $400 is not unheard of. The REO Speedwagon, Styx, Ted Nugent concert is $50-$100. The price of the Paul Festival is not bad at all. If they put on a good event that average people in Florida will want to see, they'll show up. I know Ron Paul supporters are often crazy, but people are planning on spending hundreds of dollars on gas to get there and back. Why is this again?

Not at the festival. There won't be anyone to throw snowballs at. But boy, Ron Paul delegates will be seeing up close and personal a lot of msm that they've hated for years. That's in Tampa, but not at the festival.

I think we all know how you feel about the festival, as you've interjected negativity into every thread about it. But why on earth would you try to dissuade someone else from attending? You're becoming the King Nothing of festival threads.

He did the same thing back in December when some of us we're trying to promote the ITunes Bomb for the song "Bombs"(End This War) by Golden State who declared they would donate ALL proceeds to the RevolutionPac for Ron Paul. I think if you notice, he does some sort of band promotions and it must be a ego thing if he's not organizing it, then any other event is a failure.

I wasn't asking you.

Metallica reference.

Listen, this Festival could in theory be any number of things. Asking someone why they're doing something is always a reasonable question.

Remember, much of what the grassroots has done especially election cycle, has kinda sucked.

Any given thing could be worse or better.

You discuss these things in hope of getting the best outcome possible.

I fought to get (Ron Paul Song) or whatever it was back in the song title. It was the right thing to do. And that's what the argument was.

Somebody on the Golden State team wanted everyone to buy the Golden State song - and it didn't have Ron Paul in the title at the time. I said "why do we do this - you need to have Ron Paul in the song title. If you're asking Ron Paul people to do something for you, you better be doing something for Ron Paul.

Eventually, they did re-ad Ron Paul to the song title. This effort to get Golden State onto the charts failed.

I posted many many suggestions about methods to get Golden State on the charts. I thought that all the bands with Ron Paul songs - Jordan Page, Aimee Allen, etc should coordinate their efforts. Hey, fans, buy these 3 songs on itunes. Nope - it's all about Golden State, and their song, which I promise will include Ron Paul in the title.
I also posted that I thought that they should make it a 2 week long music bomb, but it should be coordinated for a specific time. Because itunes changes their charts all the time. They should've had as many of the sales at one time. Ron Paul Grassroots is fast moving, it it was said to buy 3 songs at 6pm on a Sunday, there would be a lot of sales in that period. And I think that if that had happened, at least one would've hit the charts.

But it didn't happen like that.

Yes, I do some sort of band promotions. What that means, is that I usually know right away if one of these music ideas will fail, and can tell you, pretty quickly, what the problem is. Because I do some sort of band promotions, and have been doing it a long time, and have been somewhat successful. Hype the best of the local music scene and make them famous, is the goal, I think, a lot of people work on these projects, it's helpful if good ideas beat out bad. If the bands do the right things instead of the wrong ones, etc etc. So, I've been working with these bands in one capacity or another, and a decent number of the people and bands that I've worked with, thought were good, tried to push forward, are famous now, in good bands or successful in the music industry outside of being a rock star. I'd say I was helpful to them. Unless it's just normal that many people you know, used to work with, or live with, or do the website for are pretty successful.
