Paul Festival in Tampa Confirmed

I would go, just to meet everyone and be a part of celebrating Ron Paul's message after all the work. Hell, I had to drive over an hour one way just for mettings during the season.
I'll have to see whether I can afford it (still have to pay IRS yet), but I'd love to be there. I would probably drive, I hate TSA and I have the wrong look about me, dark complected, mustache and ghotee, long hair in a pony tail, etc...so no planes for me.

Did not see a Security Team listed among the teams that are assigned at the Festival.

I assume the Florida State Fairgrounds will provide security or am I missing something?

Families that come with children definitely want to feel that there will be sufficient security.

If this event does become a big event, some consideration should be made to renting a bus or a number of buses, with scheduled routes. Perhaps this is something that could be handled by the Festival itself. They'll likely have the money to make that happen.

Develop routes, sell tickets. I would've liked this Paul Festival during the convention, or I could see a bigger upside to it, but also more risk. You'd have thousands of people who could be moved to the convention, and the buses to move them.

Overall, I think this is a waste of resources, unless I'm missing how exactly this helps the Tampa Delegates. I haven't heard much about

Meghan McCain just said that based on all the people she talked to when touring America she's surprised Ron Paul is not the nominee.

Oh. My. God.

I am NOT a "shout Fire! in a crowded theater" person. I DOWNGRADE my concern about Festival Mayhem.

How could it have escaped my notice that the Festival is BEFORE the Convention?

Oy vey.

End of an era . . . call in sick at work, double up in campsites, SHOCK & AWESOME.

Her father is a longtime Inner Circle senator, who is married to an Heiress (after ditching the wife and mother who endured his Prisoner Of War years).

Meghan McCain is NOT surprised that Ron Paul will not be the nominee.

It's just doesn't make sense that they'd have it before. I'd take Orlando during before I'd take Tampa before. Especially if there are buses in Orlando. The point would be to stage bodies in Orlando, play music, probably liberty speakers. And somehow just celebrities hanging out. But, we have the bodies there to move to Tampa if need be. It serves as a place for people to be instead of Tampa. Because a bunch of people outside of the Convention with no clear purpose besides "I like Ron Paul" is not going to do us much good at all. If we in Orlando have a plan for outside the Convention, we can move to Tampa in the buses and implement that plan.

It seems like the plan is to park people in Tampa for 3 days in a field, and then, right when the conventions about to start, it's over. And I'd really like to have a clear idea why this is a good idea. I'm not saying it's harmful. I'm saying - this is intended to be a big project - shouldn't a big Ron Paul related project be helpful in some way that can be explained. I'm not against fun, and having fun. I'm just wondering what the numerous concrete benefits are of this Paul Festival. It really isn't too much to ask.

Well, she wasn't honestly surprised, she was just saying, telling a story, that she got people to tell her they liked Ron Paul, but not too many saying anything good about Romney or Obama, and, based on her personal, observations for the book she was selling.

I knew I would go from day one. For me it's seeing this "long strange trip" I've been on for the past 5 years come to fruition. It's about celebrating all we've accomplished and going forward. It's about an amazing man and his supporters who have inspired me and have kept me sane in all the insanity. It's about Rons Birthday and this brillant, humble man ending his career in congress. It's about connecting with old friends and making new ones. It's about celebrating who we are and where we came from. It's about having some fun.

I'm glad it's Tampa for that's where all the energy will be. Not 80 miles away in Orlando. Many of us do not want to be there for the convention. We just wanted a family oriented, safe celebration of the man and his ideas. We would do what exactly at the convention? My delegates will represent me at the convention and that's good enough for me.

I love that you guys are doing this! I hope it draws a huge, huge crowd. Have fun, and celebrate all that you and Ron Paul have accomplished! You've earned it!

I'm not so sure about A. And B, well, what're we gonna do, fight with each other?

Only if the topic of Rand comes up. lol

I think we all know how you feel about the festival, as you've interjected negativity into every thread about it. But why on earth would you try to dissuade someone else from attending? You're becoming the King Nothing of festival threads.

No kidding. If you don't want to go, parocks, don't go. :)

Listen, this Festival could in theory be any number of things. Asking someone why they're doing something is always a reasonable question.

Remember, much of what the grassroots has done especially election cycle, has kinda sucked.

Any given thing could be worse or better.

You discuss these things in hope of getting the best outcome possible.

Paul has consistently pulled large crowds in the last 4-5 months for no other reason besides him being there. If he's a confirmed speech at the Paul Festival, the place will blow up big.

This thread needs to be merged with the OTHER one, and promptly.

There is more to this GATHERING than meets the eye, when it is re-introduced as a new thread.

In the HOPE FOR THE BEST, PREPARE FOR THE WORST paradigm, the Republican National Convention in Tampa Florida in August 2012 is an engraved invitation to Trouble.

In the same way some "Liberty Lovers" desire America's collapse, some of the Bad Guys desire CRACKDOWN.

I am a techno-retard, but I will venture that merging the threads bumps the OTHER thread to the top.

People are PLAYING WITH PEOPLE'S TANGIBLE PHYSICAL WELL-BEING instead of "just the usual" playing politics, if they would camouflage the oh-so-real ISSUES heralded by a specially and strictly legislated Clean Zone.

Looky here, indeed.
