One of the few positive aspects about the Repubican party shrinkining is it allows those of us who are true conservatives to have ever more power the local and state levels.
I know in North Carolina for example the Republican party has consistently been trounced year after year in state elections, and the Democrats are preparing to once again kick our butt this upcoming election. The voter registration rolls are drastically tilting towards the democrats and that in-effect helps us lovers of liberty take an ever stronger role in pushing the party towards a true conservative message.
While its highly unlikely that we can still elect Ron Paul as President, the campaigns of individuals such as BJ Lawson show us that over time we can get the Republican party on a true conservative course. Like many of those changing party platforms at state conventions its all about the long-term effect we have on the party.
