The interview was long, she is new to this and understandably she made a couple mistakes...just as EVERY presidential candidate has for YEARS.
She made more than a "couple of mistakes"- at times, she wasn't even coherent. If she'd just made "a couple of mistakes", people wouldn't still be talking about it. She was just bad- scary bad. Kind of "You've got to be kidding me" bad.
Also, she's not "new" at this, she's been a professional politician for 16 years now. She has surely done plenty of interviews on television and radio before, and she was prepped for days by the best the Republican Party has, which is why its so shocking that she handled it so poorly- like I said, I've seen plenty of amateur politicians, in their first time on TV do better than that.
Please enlighten us as to your identity and provide some links to media sources so we may view your national TV interview and critique.
I always enjoy watching a person own the media.
Obviously congressional debates/ interviews aren't going to be on "national" television. But whether its broadcast nationally or regionally is irrelevant- the studio is the same either way, and I assure you, I was asked more challenging questions than "what newspapers do you read?" The ability to answer questions without completely losing focus is the same.
I'm not suggesting answering questions in front of the spotlight is easy. Its not. But she's not some neophyte who's never been in front of a camera before. If she was running for city council, and she'd never been in front of a camera before, I might cut her some slack, but she's a veteran politician running for VP, and could be called upon to run the most powerful nation in the world at any time. You don't cut a lot of slack for someone who might be President in a matter of months- you have to have someone who is up to the job, and she clearly is NOT.
I get it, you are trying to make excuses for her- looking for anything to excuse her piss poor performance, but it doesn't wash. I have no idea why, though, she's running for the number 2 spot in the most powerful nation in the world, she's not some "little girl" that you need to protect. She needs to stand on her own two feet (something she so far appears incapable of doing). If she wants to run with the big dogs, she'd better stop acting like a chihuahua.
BTW, I didn't ask her to "own" anyone. I expect her to be able to answer simple questions without losing her train of thought and rambling incoherently- I don't think that is particularly unreasonable.
Why am I even concerned with the discussion of Sarah's performance?
Because this is initiated as a means to infighting and a source of distraction.
Everyone is busy discussing some bullshit interview, ramping up baloney about being a heartbeat away from POTUS (just as every goddamned VP in history has been...fucking numbskull reporters) and other bogus grasping-at-straws bullshit intended to distract us from the goal of making certain that we work against the socialist regime that is immanent if Osama is allowed to become POTUS.
I'm not sure what you mean by all this, but I hope you aren't suggesting that McWar/Palin is better than Obama/Biden, because I'm not buying it, and neither will any supporter of liberty- we shouldn't be voting for McWar or Obama- hell, not voting for Pres. is preferable to voting for them (which is what it may come down to for me since Barr seems determined to lose my vote).
