I don't see this as the case. If you listened to Beck or Cavuto 3 years ago, before the election craze, they were saying basically what they are saying now. During the election they all reverted to the election year talking points of the Republican party that supported McCain's talking points, but now they don't have to follow that out of fear of being labelled as Dem sympathizers. I don't know about Palin before her VP nod, but from what I have heard it is the same as Beck and Cavuto.

While Obama is not responsible for what the guy said, one would think he would've known his stances prior to asking him to speak and if nothing else, he should've denounced what was said, after it was said. It was an 80 year old civil rights activist who said something along the lines of "white do what's right, yellow be mellow" etc... Perhaps inappropriate and not a very sophisticated rhyme.
