you guys don't get it. overstock should be boycotted. people fawn over this bs way too easily. he has you all praising him even though he shows no connection between his corporate responsibilities and associating with FOX. Help the feller out and boycott him so he has a reason to justify parting company with FOX.

ive been hearing these claims on many companies on other forums for years... fact is... the company isnt getting enough traffic on the site to be profitable... ive never seen a commercial for overstock on fox anyways....


the stock is beaten down because it cant compete with amazon ..... i wish i had a short position on this one

WOW that is cool. I work for eBay and they're a major competitor of Overstock. EBay has been lobbying the Congress to make sure that the IRS stays out of our business and does not try to make Powerseller's report all their transactions like Canada's Tax beareau just did.

They really haven't caught on though that Ron Paul is the only candidate who, were he in office, would prevent the IRS from doing this on his watch.

Byrne has most certainly been an asset in the fight against naked short selling. Whether Overstock is the most successful business in the world is irrelevent... its stock IS the target of illegal naked short selling, which is like fiat currency on crack. It's the creating and selling of phantom shares, to manipulate the stock price. And for less-visible companies who may need access to the capital markets to get by until their technology becomes profitable, this manipulation of their stock price can seriously affect their ability to tap the equity or debt markets in order to survive.

Byrne has been the leader in spreading the word about naked shorting. You think Ron has a hard time getting people to listen to the truth about the Fed and fiat money? Patrick Byrne has just as tough a time waking people up to the truth about this confusing loophole in the dark underbelly of the stock market. I believe he's sincere, though he's certainly quirky.

He talks about corporate responsibility... where is his? He doesn't HAVE to have advertising on FOX.

EBay would be an incredible way to advertise. I don't think Ebay has ever done it, but they have a lot of volume, and small business owners concerned with taxes.

Agreed that Overstock should still be boycotted.

I will never buy from Overstock again. When corporate profits are more important than defending democracy then that is a company which will never again get my business. There are other stations to advertise one, none of which are nearly as blatant in overtly silencing the only true voice in support of the people as Fox.

One Overstock customer here (and I have indeed been in the past) gone for good...
