Me and my wife voted today in Anderson SC and we were amazed at the line for early voting. Folks said it was out the door this morning and we waited an hour and 15 minutes to get to vote. The line was just as long when we left as it was when we arrived.
From the demographics of the crowd I would guess there were a lot of straight ticket democrat voters which should be a plus for Conley for senate, and might just cost McCain the state. (I hope)
Last presidential election when we voted early there were maybe 2 or 3 other folks there voting at the same time, this time they had 8 machines up and running and there was a consistent hour plus wait to get in and vote.
Now, just so you can all start hating me I'll let you know that I did vote against McCain by selecting Obama for prez. There is no write in option for Prez in SC (not that it would have mattered anyways) and instead of taking a half vote away from McCain by voting Baldwin I chose to take a full vote away by voting Obama.
I'm not an Obama supporter, but I do think a McCain presidency is the worst possible outcome of this election.
