Hey guys,

why not be constructive and think of other ways the blimp project could raise money.

the one idea i had is that they could sell some space on their website for advertisement...You know, if a ron paul supporter owned a big company, they could sell them an "overpriced" ad. An ad for that supporters company in the top left of the page. about the size of a google ad for like $10,000 or even more. When the media gets a hold of it, im sure the site will be shown all over the news, which would mean even more advertising for the suporter(s).

That is a fanastic idea. Blimpers get on that. Let's raise the money.

Oh hey how about selling blimp merch!?!?!?!

yes,

selling mini blimps is a great idea. What about blimp selling antenae balls! you know, kind of like the jack heads, except a ron paul blimp

Those take time to produce and you have to buy up front. I think right now it is more important to get the blimp flying!

Great point! The website advertising however is immediate. They could sell advertisement on their page, throughout the page. All over-priced, but supporters would be willing to pay. They could also sell raffle tickets for a chance to ride on the blimp. (instead of giving those away free.)

And last but not least, they could all sell their bodies as a last resort *maybe not so much this one.

Get on u tube NOW! Copy and paste information about the Blimp under Ron Paul videos. there are thousands of supporters watching the vids that probably don't know about the blimp. On Nov 5th these videos were flooded with info and I think a good amount of loot came from this effort.

Right now nobody mentions the blimp under the vids. Just copy and paste under 20-or 30 then type please copy and past so others help.

New pledge website for past blimp sponsors only?

How about sending an email out to all those who have already sponsored the blimp and asking them to pledge again on a new web page? The logic is that most blimp sponsors may be willing to put a little more money in if they knew that most others would be putting in some more too. When the new web page reached pledges of $60,000, then everyone would pay.

The new web page could hopefully prevent untruthful pledges by matching up new pledges with the email addresses of past blimp sponsors.

BTW, I haven't received any emails from www.ronpaulblimp.com asking for more money yet. I am a sponsor but did not pledge the first time around.

This is passed the pledge stage. They are already taking donations. They have over 125,000 dollars already. The problem is they need to raise another 75,000 by friday at midnight.

We dont have time to pledge. We have to have ideas that can be initiated immediately.

Either do this or e-mail already existing databases. we are out of time. Do it NOW!

A Few Revenue Ideas: (These aren't complete guesses, I founded my own events marketing company several years ago. The logistics are very similar).

1. Media Partners: Offer exclusive signage at various locations, cities, on website, on fins etc. in return for a coverage and advertising spots. Radio, TV. Value maybe 100k advertising per month. (this is in addition to huge media possibilities that can arise spontaneously and with the help of good PR manager.

2. Corporate Sponsors: Most likely east coast focused or national insurance, banking, but possibly other sectors for signage space on blimp. rights to promote tickets etc. $100-200k/month.

3. Blimp Rides: Not sure on the logistics, but 8 x 15 minute trips for 10 people at a time at 15 landing sites per month, at $200 per rider = $240,000 per month.

4. Merchandising: 15 landing sites per month, average turn out 1,000 people. Spend per person on t-shirts, mini-blimps, hats etc etc $5 = $75,000

That adds up to $435k - $535k per month without donations and I think these estimates are conservative. The project should seek out a professional event / sponsorship expert to leverage the possibilities.

This would provide the blimp project with a lot of leverage to maximize effectiveness through to Nov 2009. We might even see additional blimps added to the project.

What about Collectible Launch Buttons?

I have a button machine and can make a few buttons for the Elizabeth City Launch to test the idea. I need help with graphic(s). Is there an image of the blimp that could be used for such a purpose?

BTW, I'm somewhat local, Grandy, NC and volunteered to do some video for YouTube, but I haven't had a response yet. I'm available to do it either Friday or Saturday, but need to know ASAP.

Thanks,
Rhonda.

Why don't we send out e-mails to big time guys like Bill Maher, Barry Manilow, pat Buchanan and John Mayer asking for donations of like $1000 to $5000.

balloons

I would love some helium balloons shaped like the blimp. The kids could take them home to their parents and convert them to Ron Paul voters

Does the blimp have a marquee?

If the blimp had a marquee, people could buy time with their name or a custom message in the marquee.

The thing is, they dont want any other advertising on the blimp to distract from the ron paul message.

Selling stuff takes time. They need the money now. The idea is something they can do NOW to make money immediately.

Caradeporra,

I don't want to take away from promoting Paul either. But I don't think putting a donor's name on the marquee will distract from Ron Paul. In fact, I think it would give people a reason to forward blimp news to their friends and family. For example, if I bought time on the marquee at 12:01 p.m. on 12/16, I'd send a note to all my friends to say "hey, check out the blimp cam at 12:01 p.m." If it were photographed, I would send the photograph to all my friends.

I agree that they need money now, but they're going to need to raise another $150 K in addition to the $200 K tomorrow. This would be one way to do it.

Ask GOOGLE for help

Ask Elliott Schrage to pony up, he supports RP, the interview/show earlier this year was awesome. I emailed him at the hopelessly useless generic GOOGLE email on their website and I've posted this to this site unter Q&A earlier today. I may just make a separate thread.
