what the hell are we going to bomb? People serious think Iran will sit there and take it?? Iran knows WHERE ALL our battle ships are. Iran KNOWS where all our BASES in Iraq are... you do not think they will unleash a hell on us?
Then what... we will need to send in ground troops... we will send in 70k from Iraq and Afgah. then what? We will be trapped in another endless war with 1000s of more dead Americans

This is partly due to efforts like drudge's efforts to always talk about nuclear power plants as "nukes" on his site.
Over and over again he would put stories on there about nukes and nukes, but Iran doesn't have any.

1. We can't bomb all their facilities, as they've dispersed and hardened them a lot.
2. The bombing won't come as a result of the WMD development (but the sheeple don't do research). Check the NIE. Note what happened in Iraq.

Michael Greenstone who works in the Department of Economics at MIT wrote a good expose entitled "Is the Surge Working?"
Our military is overextended, our country is already in massive debt, and Iran has two powerful allies: China and Russia. What makes you think bombing them would be all it takes? A massive asymmetrical counter attack which could include suicide bombings around the world, increased instability in Iraq, attacks on oil tankers traveling through the Straight of Hormuz, and plenty of other possibilities could ensue. Plus, I think China and Russia would view this as a threat to their national security and would be forced to take some kind of action.
Labeling the IRNG as a terrorist organization was a big mistake as now it gives us reason to escalate tensions which is why our ships are over there to begin with. We could use them here guarding our own borders and waters. The Gulf of Tonkin incident in Vietnam was very similar to the one that happened the other day. Turns out it was not the Iranian Revolutionary Gaurd Corp, but a group called the Filipino Monkeys causing the stir. World war III was almost started because a bunch of bandits got on their radio spouting garbage. You are endorsing policies that create unintended consequences that reduce our national security, our financial security and the future of our country.

I seriously disagree with bombing Iran if diplomacy fails but I also disagree with your way of thinking..
Do I think that Iran would sit there and take it? Uhm... yeah.. pretty much.. I don't think they will unleash hell on us, I think they will sit In Iran and watch their precious army be blown to bits by a superior war machine.. In the first gulfwar Sadam had shitloads of tanks but they couldn't even dent the US forces, Iran would be no different.
America might not be capable of peacefully occupying countries to enforce democracy but it is perfectly capable of blowing inferior armies to bits.
Which once again, is not to say that you should.. It would be terrible if it happened and the US doesn't have the means to stably occupy a country with four times the population of Iraq. But blow them to bits? Yeah.. you could, and you would probably not even loose a single carrier in the process of doing so.

The most important question is: Diplomacy for what?! WHAT THE HELL IS IRAN DOING WRONG?!!
We should not even be using diplomacy with them. And if you really think Iran harbors terrorists, then you were also the one that believed Iraq has weapons of mass destruction and that Iran was making nuclear weapons.

We do not know where the Iran targets are. We do not know what to bomb and we could not cripple them enough before they countered with far better intel than we have.
We knew where the Iraqi targets were in the first gulf war because we paid for/built them.
