Count on Slutter to be as blunt as a heart attack. The point is, both candidates are out of the political world. Ron has been out of the race for quite some time now and yet, his "Likes" continue to rise. Meanwhile, Romney's continue to crash. That bodes well for the future regarding what ideas will persist. You are correct that 11 million is obviously a lot bigger than 1 million, but also consider that a ton of those Romney "likes" aren't active. Additionally, a lot of people don't actively dislike pages.
Though I don't see how one can fault someone for simply pointing out what's right in front of them. Crashing or rising, there's still a huge gap that you cannot ignore, I don't care how optimistic one wants to be. It's still a long way to go. Nothing wrong with pointing that out. It's not pessimism, it's realism. We don't know every single person behind the likes on either page and one can speculate that 'these likes were bought' or 'these are from inactive profiles' and blah blah blah, it's still a large gap. A slowly but surely closing gap, but a large gap nonetheless.

I'd be willing to bet a ton of Romney's aren't REAL. I think he's pragmatic enough to purchase them. Who 'unlikes' a page? I think the contracts are running out.
And yeah, Romney has a ton, but he was Gop nominee, he should. obama has more, he's president. Ron is a retired congressman who ran for president -- and he just got a couple thousand more likes in the last couple of weeks.
If you can unfriend a person on Facebook or stop subscribing to a page, it makes just as much sense for a person to 'unlike' a page. You don't like it anymore, you lose interest, something happened with it that bothers you, it's not an impossible scenario.
