Robert Welch founded the
John Birch Society in 1958 based on the idea that collapse of the entire Western world was imminent due to Communist influences along with debt and monetary collapse due to "social services" spending.
The
"Blue Book" (a dig at Chairman Mao's "Little Red Book"), the founding speech and document of the society talks of the coming collapse in very vivid terms.
I happen to think Welch is right, but it will be the ethnic, cultural and societal issues that will tear the West apart, the rickety system of fiat currency, government debt and consumer usury will continue creaking along as always.
This, of course, is but one example.
