I should point out that these people are trained to do this (to stifle dissidents). I should know; my grandmother and other relatives of mine were "trained" to do exactly this at a McCain/Palin rally in '08. One of their tactics was to hold their signs in front of people who weren't...falling into line. They called it a type of security.

This picture would have been near the end of that time, because I only took the cowboy hat off for the Maine hat for a couple minutes near the end.

Note: the microphone was never turned on, so she was having no effect, and I don't even recall her being there. I appreciate her posing for the photo, though--it does capture the moment pretty well.
