OK.... 3rd party run IS an option to consider now!

Should Ron Paul run 3rd Party?

  • Yes

    Votes: 81 46.8%
  • No

    Votes: 92 53.2%

  • Total voters
    173
No, please don't encourage this. If he fails to beat the other republicans in the primaries, how is he going to beat them in a general election? He won't pick up many democrat voters because they'll be going with their candidate.

We need Hillary to win for the Democrats. Then hopefully Obama supporters will come to us in a third party run. Obama wont run 3rd party, he is a partisan hack.

To all the people who think this is the worst idea ever: Ron Paul was able to get 8 and 10% of REPUBLICAN, who tend to be pro-war. Imagine how much better he can do with the genreal population, who are more than not anti-war.

Also if he ran 3rd party he'd get booted out of all the debates like Nader was.

Not if he had the 15% to stay in the debates. It's very possible he could get it if Obama doesn't win the nomination.

Listen we have ONE MONTH LEFT AND THATS IT!

Now is not the time but after Super Tuesday is.

DO you want RP to quit after Feb 5th? Because that is what will happen if dont run 3rd party.

This was the plan. He already said ALL THE WAY!! then tells the media 99.9, If he was for sure he would say NO.

We just have to keep sending him money.

we have a better chance of winning if Hillary wins than say Obama.

Then Richhandler said,

Richandler said:
You know Ron getting exposure for a 3rd party run might not be a bad idea. However, the only way I see this working is if Clinton wins the nomination. If Clinton wins the nomination I'm certain that Bloomberg would run. If Bloomberg runs 3rd party. Ron has a extremely good opportunity at this election as a 3rd party if we the supporters give him 5x what we are doing right now.

3rd party is very possible.
Here is what we(the hardcore net warriors) need to do RIGHT AWAY, start tearing appart Obama on youtube and creating videos that expose him as being worse than hillary because he lies saying he is against the war in Iraq, yet he votes for 380 billion dollars to fund it. Then we need to attack him for voting for the patriot act. Also attack him for saying that he would do nothing to stop illegals from coming in.(he said this at one of the last 2 debates!). Then we can bring up his cfr
affiliation(this will be harder to sell because people are generally stupid). But we must attack him on those other big issues first.

We can easilly pump up these attack videos on youtube and get them 100,000 thousand views if we synchronize the video releases in one day like a money bomb. So when someone does an obama search, these vids show up at the top of the page. :)

Let's do this! I can't stand Obama and his fake/hyped media created push. He's such a phony and no agent for change.

Again the 3rd party thing is only if the primaries don't work out and ONLY afterwards. Exposing Obama on youtube must be done now.

Yes and how many prior 3rd party candidates had a head start like this? 10 percent of republicans voted Ron Paul?!??

Now picture only one Republican and One Democrat left. Say Mitt. Thats the evangelical Christian vote right there. Which i hate playing the religion card but its the only reason huck won in Iowa. How about rudy? Oops thats the family values vote for us. All of them have flaws and flip flops.
It doesnt even matter one on one. The republican party is split.

The dem side. If hillary wins. We could get a good majority of Obamas supporters since A. They dont like Hillary and want change. B. They want the war to end.

I think you see how this could play out. Not only that once all these other underdogs are gone we will gain some votes since none of them liked the top tier candidates.

Now picture RP announcing his third party run. Say he does really good super tuesday but doesnt win.

He will get just as much media attention as the candidates who won the nomination.

The Ron Paul Factor will be discussed for months. He will be compared to Nader And Ross Perot. But he will have a HUGE ADVANTAGE. He had a great head start.

We will have the media coverage we have always wanted and dreamed of.

We get very little now.

We get to be in the tv debates if we get 15% in various states.
So it is a 2nd option. If you want to pack your bags after the primary, go ahead. No one's stopping you.

I'm kind of ashamed to be registered a Republican anymore. The party is not what it used to be. Dr. Paul preaches the ways of the old Republican agenda... the party has lost its ways. The neocons have infiltrated the party at all levels and use the powerful media to influence their agenda. I personally believe the party unrepairable, and should just crash and burn at this point, because it will eventually, unless people wake up really fast.

I would love to see a new powerful third party rise out of all this. One that goes back to the roots of the original Republican party. Revolution Party? Dr. Paul for the long haul, even if he doesn't get the Republican ticket... This is a revolution. Revolutions go deep, this is bigger than anything in recent times. Perot, Buchanan, Nader, they had nothing compared to the following our Revolution is creating. Paul might have a better chance as a third party candidate if it's pushing a new party, one that makes people excited because it is pushing the revolution. Something that this disenchanted generation can put faith into. Every other nation has many many parties in their electorial process, we allow two to bully around this country. Times are changing folks. We need to lead the way.

I think Plan B should be running for re-election to his seat in Congress. He could realistically retake his place but now he would be more powerful with supporters of his bills everywhere bombarding the Congress and President.

In such a situation who ever is President would still have to reckon with the Revolution.

Meanwhile though we still have many more states to go so lets not worry so much about Plan Bs.

DING! DING! DING!

1) Paul is not going to win the nomination. I don't care if there are 300 states left he just doesn't have the support.

2) A third party run is a waste of time and money. He won't be invited to the debates and will get almost zero press coverage. At best he will get 2% nationally.

The best thing to do is learn from the mistakes of this campaign - and there are many - in order to do better next time.

Very bad idea

It would look like sour grapes and he wouldn't do well.

He needs to get his message out NOW, in THIS primary season.

It is the message, not the man, and the message is not being received. A third party run will not change that.

DO BETTER NOW! That is an order.

The timing is off give us more time and leave only two other choices (Hillary vs Mitt) to pick from. Our support will grow beyond your wildest dreams.

2. Its not a waste of money and time. What else will you do? support the nominee?haha

Ive been thinking long term lately and what effect we could have on the general election.

The longer Ron Paul stays in the more people we reach. So even if we do lose in the very end at least we didn't quit or give up.

Sure we could get Ron Paul a seat back in the House but he will never have a chance to run again. He will be 76 by the next go around meaning he will be 80 in his first term. This is what will happen he will stand alone in congress as usual while the country gets more effed up. He will then retire. Our movement will slowly die after super Tuesday because there is no candidate just like him. And even if we could produce one it would take decades to get him to run for president.

This is our last chance to keep the movement going after super tuesday.

WHAT IS LEFT AFTER SUPER TUESDAY? Jack shit if we dont win. We will have four more years of bullshit and then some more.

YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANOTHER CANDIDATE LIKE RON PAUL FOR 20 YEARS. MAYBE NEVER!!!!

And i for one will not let Ron Paul quit. I will send his ass emails., mails telephone calls, personal checks.
