OHIO needs help NOW!

lets get this done. im in portage and will hopefully hear something with my meetup

we have our delegates here, but who knows if its accurate

Do other districts need help getting signatures, and if so, am I allowed to help as a resident of the 7th?

Overview of the petition process and important points
The at large petition are the delegates for the entire state of Ohio. Any registered voter in the state of Ohio can sign the at large petition as long as they do not have a party affiliation of Democrat. Check with the local county BOE to confirm your party affiliation. Each at large petition must only contain signatures for ONE COUNTY.

GIT HER DUN

If the campaign ever read the forums and paid attention, they would know that all that they would need to do to get on the ballot in Ohio WITHOUT GATHERING A SINGLE SIGNATURE would be to apply for federal matching funds and get approved for them. They would not have to take funds, merely get a letter of eligibility from the FEC, which -- when attached to the delegate lists -- would automatically satisfy the signature requirements.

I have posted about this at least twice in the last six weeks, but here goes again:

A Republican presidential candidate who is eligible to receive payments under the Presidential Primary Matching Payment Account Act (88 Stat. 1297, 26 U.S.C.A. 9031), may be certified to the Ohio presidential primary ballot by the filing of declarations of candidacy (no petition containing signatures of Ohio electors) by the presidential candidate, and the candidates for delegate and alternate delegate who have pledged to support that presidential candidate.

the maximum that can be submitted per district is 150. but if we get more, what I believe we can do is pick the best. Please try to get registered republicans if possible. check back at ohio4ronpaul.com soon for more info

when is the deadline?

get this to your meet up groups asap

wall mart, target etc def sounds like a good idea

ok im gonna get signatures this weekend... this is gonna cut into the iowa and michigan letter writing, but this is more important

150 signatures should be easy as hell... ill go to sandusky and elyria and get the signatures... toledo is tough...republicans are small here

Thanks.

I forwarded it to our meetup group leads here in Columbus. If they haven't seen it, they will forward it to the Ohio Chair.

It's worse than that. HQ delayed, of course, so they lost have the time that, as you point out they don't need. They produced instructional videos by Tom Lizardo that they oppose the grassroots actually following. If they wanted to go canvassing for preparations for a Get Out The Vote effort that would be great--it is what they should be doing now. Instead they're just planning to act in crisis mode, per usual, when that time approaches.

ok i just talked to my sister who is actually from Marysville, Ohio (district 15) and she said she is willing to go door to door and collect signatures

she laughed at me when i told her that 150 is the max... she said she'll get that in 4 hours

ok so lemme get this straight...

we need signatures from every single district in ohio? correct?

correct!, but it all starts with whereever you are. If everyone does everything in their power it will add up HUGE!

I am collecting signatures for District 2, specifically eastern Hamilton County (Cincinnati area). If anyone one here is from District 2 and hasn't signed a petition please pm me. I'll tyr to meet up with you.

whats the minimum amount of signatures that we need (per district)? ... not that im settling for the minimum, but nice to know if something comes up

Ohio Petitions

Guys, there is a sh&t ton of conflicting information about who can sign what petitions. WE need to get this story straight once and for all.

The info I have is that for delegate and alternate petitions, the circulator can only have people sign that live in the same COUNTY as the petition circulator. Furthermore, only registered independents and republicans can sign. NO DEMOCRATS. They are democrat if the voted previously in the democratic primaries in '04 and '06.

I get this from the State coordinator.

BradInDC, does this jibe with you?

I live in District 2 and think we have this one covered. I'm going out tomorrow to collect.

Also, Greenskin, check your PM box and email me back to coordinate on some future activities since I think you live in District 2 also. It will be difficult around here but I want to rEVOLutionize district 2.

15 is not an issue at this point

They have seen your info about the FEC.

I guess the decision was made that we needed the Signatures.

Beauty of it is, we can Get Out The Vote at the same time.
