Official Thread: Rand Paul filibusters the Debt Ceiling Budget

Cruz isn't good on privacy, is a neo-con for foreign policy, scared to death of Iran and treats Israel as if it were a sacred cow, took the Paul's and liberty movement's support to get elected and then turned around and runs against him to put him down. He is super partisan.

He is basically a Sarah Palin who isn't that dumb.

Serious question...I honestly don't know much about Cruz but I do know he holds a lot of similar views. Why do people hate him so much? If Rand doesn't make it, wouldn't Cruz be the next best one in line?

Some people assume since he entered the race specifically right before Rand did, and his campaign released a memo that they are targeting Rand Paul supporters right before Rand's Poll numbers declined that he is not intellectually honest when he says he is sympathetic to our cause and more likely to be a shill for the establishment to steal away support from Rand Paul's Campaign..

Nobody is sure whether he is Canadian, American or Israeli.

But seriously, he is targeting people like you who are supposed to be liberty supporters but haven't really been paying attention. Take a look at his foreign policy advisors, and he is desperate to rip apart the liberty movement to save himself. The same liberty movement that Ron and Rand Paul endorsed for Senate.

Because negativity makes you look smart to the masses.

Call everyone a shill and point out all their flaws every chance you get, and you'll look like the smartest person here.

From my post in the "Unofficial" thread:

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/10/29/sen-rand-paul-filibustering-budget-deal

So it looks like he doesn't have to keep talking and hold the floor to continue the filibuster.

He's already forced them to at least wait one day and one hour to be able to vote, and they need 60 to end the debate and stop his filibuster. That's why they're posting on Facebook and Twitter asking people to call their Senators and tell them to vote against ending debate.

The closer he pushes them to 12:01 am Nov 1, the more leverage he has.

Did anyone notice how in the debate, when Cruz was asked about the Fed, he said that he co-sponsored RON Paul's Audit The Fed bill? I wondered a bit why Rand thanked him. He was correcting him.

I think Cruz genuinely thought it was Rons bill and was trying to grab Ron Paul supporters with that line.

Classy way to correct him . . .

But today,
Late Thursday afternoon Cruz decided to capitalize on his success and announced a “money bomb” — an online effort to raise $1 million over 24 hours.
“I am declaring war on the liberal media,” Cruz said in an email appeal. The fund raising tactic was used effectively
by former presidential candidate Ron Paul, the father of candidate Rand Paul, in earlier campaigns.

P.S. Senate recess for about another 45 minutes . . . till midnight ET

Ted knows all about the Federal reserve, his wife was a managing director of Goldman Sachs. She also served on the National security council during George W Bush's Presidency. You know the guy that ran a campaign against nation building that was for lower taxes and balanced budgets.

I noticed it. Cruz deliberately failed to attribute Rand Paul to Audit the Fed legislation in the Senate. Even if this was an attempt to reach out to Ron Paul supporters, Cruz intentionally failed to mention that it was Rands' legislation he co-sponsored. This is no mistake. Cruz is a snake.

Did you notice also how Cruz had already explained his tax plan, but then also felt the need to hijack Rands tax plan answer by again talking about his own tax plan? He's intentionally trying to convince voters to sell Rand and has been since the beginning of his campaign. This isn't the first time Cruz has thrown Rand under the bus.

Yes, I did notice that.

Did anyone notice that when Rand almost finished talking about his tax plan, Cruz - in a rude and snake-like manner - stepped on him saying, "Yeah! Rand's tax plan is great, but MY tax plan has a 10% flat rate, and blah, blah, blah-whole-list-of-things-that-Rand's-plan-included-long-before-Cruz-came-up-with-his-plan-but-he-pretended-like-he-came-up-with-them-and-he-received-much-applause?

Anyone notice that?

And also, while Cruz was doing that, someone was saying, "What are you doing?" in an annoyed tone?
Who was that? Could it have been Rand?

I suspect that was Kasich who said that; not sure though.

...but why would Kaisch say it and to who? Cruz? Hard to say, I guess.

That really was stealing Rand's applause, and after he had so little time to speak.
And that's the kind of guy Cruz is.

Sorry if my memory is wrong, but didn't Cruz try to block raising the debt ceiling last year, and Paul favored it for political reasons?

Yea, Cruz is a big-time snake.
I think Kasich said "What are you doing?". Because Kasich had a question coming to him before the moderators chose to go to Rand instead, and he probably thought he was getting jipped on time and that Cruz was stepping on his time.
Like I said though, I'm not sure if it was Kasich or not, just guessing.
