>>>***Official***<<< Presidential Debate Thread

It's because Obama is one arrogant guy that thought he could beat Romney without even trying.

I think that's it. He believed all the press clippings. I told everyone that Romney was no pushover. Sure, he's a statist pig like Obama, but he can play the game.

Chris Matthews is freaking out saying that Obama got ambushed by underestimating Romney. I wouldn't go that far, but Romney did well.

Let me straiten things out for you.

All reporters of the mainstream media work for the same corporation. It's the reporters job to make the American people, in a divide and conquer strategy, a perfect 50/50 split.

That's their job, period!

I agree. Mitt is a shrewd man; he might lose, but he's going to be more formidable than McCain was.

You must have saw it differently than everyone else. It looked to me like Romney was the clear winner as well.

We'll have to see the brainwashing mind control TV ratings tomorrow to see if critical mass was achieved.

I doubt it.

Honey Boo Boo probably got better ratings.

Horrible in that his policies suck. But in terms of gauging debate points, he did very well. I think too many people try to score these debates through the lens of their own personal philosophy, as opposed to how the average uninformed American digested it.

Nate Silver says the challenger usually gets a bounce from the first debate because the 'presidential veneer' is challenged. We'll see. I think they just had really low expectations.

RPF is not a "friendly" forum for Romney right now. If we're concluding that he won the debate, then he probably did from the "outside world's" vantage point.

I mean, my jaw is on the ground from all the Orwellian-speak tonight. Free markets can't be free, and government creates prosperity. I have so many thoughts but i'm really just deeply saddened to see how far down the rabbit hole we are. Makes me want to just retreat right back into cynicism.

The Debate Farce

Here in Denver, various agencies of the federal police apparatus shut down the city's main interstate highway for several hours so that no one could get close enough to threaten the life of the two great deities who are currently exchanging talking points at the University of Denver. Rush hour traffic was shut down and thrown into disarray so that the elites could engage in a spectacle in which nothing of substance will be said and no honest statement will be uttered.

The local elites were in ecstasy over the fact that our wise overlords saw fit to stoop down and grace the streets of our fair city with their shining countenances. Surely, flowers bloomed wherever they stepped. It was a "great honor" we were told that the University of Denver was chosen by our betters on high to host such an august gathering of warlords and minor princes all seeking to win one for their side, and sure that victory will be secured for the presiding war criminal or the possible war-criminal-in-waiting.

Since I don't vote or participate in any of the other liturgies of the American religion known as Democracy, I am denied the pleasures of the electrifying grace that apparently permeates the souls of those who believe that salvation will come their way on November 6th. But it is apparently all very exciting.

The pundits assure us however, that this "debate" (viz., recitation of talking points) will be very important for the undecided voters. Fortunately, Saturday Night Live recently explained to use the nature of the animal that is the "undecided voter."

It's the liberal media. They've been talking for months saying that Romney didn't belong in the same room with THEIR GUY, when it was patently false. They set up the stage for this bounce with their unfettered arrogance.

Yup. Romney is Obama lite. He doesn't want to really cut revenue or curb spending. He's a statist placeholder.

Fine by me, as long as you got your three G's: Guns, God, & Gold. Don't forget general food, water, and medical supplies for the rabbit hole.

Thanks to AF lol

Might be time for an intervention...

"AF, we've asked you here to consider getting help for throwing something in the woods..."

I'm reading around the government press, and I'm seeing "draw".

That, and they are really pushing this:

The ideological divide between Obama and Romney on dominant questions of the day -- this year, it’s the economy and its slow climb out of recession -- is as wide as it has been in any presidential election in more than a generation.

The "differences" that are not.

Politically and policy wise, this is as pointless an election as I've seen in all my adult life, even more than Dole/Clinton in 1996.
