Official Maine Caucus Results thread

I feel SO bad for Ron. He deserves one freaking win. He's been doing this for so long. Man oh man this hurts.

To all of you saying things such as "that's it, it's over" and "we're fucked" etc. etc. etc., Shut the FUCK UP.

The people who founded the greatest country in the history of the earth gave up FAR TOO MUCH for any of us to give up because we "lost" Maine by 3%. Jesus Christ.

If you want to be president, you've got to sound like a president.

Sounding like a 'President' means lying and giving substance free bullshit filled speeches to blow smoke up the ass of the idiot masses. If Paul would start doing that, he'd lose all of his support.

OK, if this is true, why are we even bothering? Face it, HE HAD IOWA, but then he bungled the foreign policy question, one of my Army buddies lives there and we are both big Paul fans and he told me in his town he almost literally felt the life of the campaign be sucked out after that moment.

Any proof of this or are you just talking out of your ass? The amount of idiotic speculation occurring on these forums recently is just mind-numbing.

frankly, the fact RP stayed in Texas, makes the loss infuriating... it does not lift the morale.

Rand Paul take not. A General does not go home before a crucial battle.

This...I'm amazed people think the establishment wasn't there looking for a way to screw us. They even admitted before Iowa they would do what it takes to make Paul lose.

Yep. That's what amazes me here with the ones denying anything goes on and think its 100% legitimate. Just willful ignorance on their end. They flat admit what they are going to do constantly. People seem to forget how the IA Gov and State GoP was spewing endless shit every single day for 2 weeks about how bad it would be if Ron won, it wouldn't count, we will just 'throw it out' , it will 'pervert the process', 'it wont reflect the will of the voters', etc, etc. There are 3 or 4 anomalies in Maine within the last 3 days that point directly to what they wanted the outcome to be, get with it people, sheesh. They wont allow Ron to ever win a state, and will simply switch the numbers and use some bs narrative to justify it. The only way it will happen is if Ron has landslide support in a state, where it would be too obvious, and unfortunately, he doesn't. As long as good ole Mitt is right there with him, he will be in second place every time. I mean, cmon, this is right after CPAC too, do you really think ME was going to make it the Ron Paul show?

Then people wonder why so many numbers are down in overall turnout this year. People are just sickened by the process and disillusioned by all of the garbage that goes on. Until the system is flipped upside down on its head and throw out entirely, nothing will change.

What the fuck is he supposed to talk about? Vague niceties like the rest of the candidates? Maybe he could talk about bringing America back to greatness like Romney, that'd win him the election.

A lot of you are pathetic, whining, complaining idiots.

How about simply saying everything he is saying now, but in an organized, structured and clear/concise fashion? That's all a formal speech would be.

It wouldn't change anything he's trying to say... it would just organized it into a coherent-from-beginning-to-end message.

He jumps from monetary policy to foreign policy to welfare back to foreign back to monetary... etc.

I'll leave the GOP if Santorum actually becomes the GOP nominee. If Romney becomes the nominee, I'll probably just vote for a 3rd party candidate and stay in the Republican Party.

OK, if this is true, why are we even bothering? Face it, HE HAD IOWA, but then he bungled the foreign policy question, one of my Army buddies lives there and we are both big Paul fans and he told me in his town he almost literally felt the life of the campaign be sucked out after that moment.

Ron could win, despite all the odds, I am out there talking to voters all the time, this whole "media" thing is overblown, it is Ron himself refusing to get a debate coach, you can't continue to ignore this. I do not say this to insult Ron, he is a great guy, but his speaking abilities (or inability) is killing his chances.

What a fricking D-Bag Comment...

so when do the rest of these caucuses come in?

Lol at people with 10 posts astroturfing any knock on the corrupt GOP. Watergate anyone? Rons message stays strong, Santorum is an idiot and will talk his way out of the nomination. Gingrich won one of the most neo con uneducated states and then hasnt done anything else. Romney has the money, he is our competition. We still have 40 states, and if you truly believe in the message that dr Paul preaches, than you will stay the course until the inaguration in 2013

I haven't given up. But I'm angry at the campaign for dropping the ball in a very winnable situation. History turns on such narrow losses and victories.

Ron Paul is old as shit, who knows why he went back to Texas for a few days,
perhaps he NEEDED the rest, let it be

Does it really matter?

The media would spin this is as a meaningless win in a low turnout state if Paul won, just as they primed this for Romney's mythic comeback all this week.

The double standard won't suddenly go away with a single win for Paul.

FOX NEW PULLS PLUG ON RON PAUL MAINE SPEECH

You know what? Why the heck should Fox give his speech air time when he never wins? In fact, I turned the TV off as soon as I saw the results. Ron stayed home yesterday and it's nobody's fault but his. At some point, the candidate has to actually, you know, campaign for the office he claims to seek. He only enters the race reluctantly, then people raise millions of dollars and spend lots of time for him. What does he do to thank them? He rests in Clute.

You are either running for president or you are just jerking off. Now you know which on Ron is doing. I'm tearing up my delegate form and saying fuck it. Just like he did to everyone who supports him. One stinking extra day on the trail and he might very well have gotten 200 more votes.

I have been complaining around here the last few days because the campaign cannot count on winning delegates. The party will never let someone who loses every race win the nomination. It will simply not happen. So, Ron stayed home and grasped defeat from the jaws of victory.

We had to beg him to come to NV in 2008. We got him delegates to the national convention, and he was pissed at us. Seriously. But we cut him some slack because he really didn't have a chance. But this time, he did have a chance, albeit slim, and he chose to go home. I am now going home and he can beg forgiveness from everyone he let down on his own time.
