Official Maine Caucus Results thread

We've always known it would be close, with Ron getting the slight edge. Expect more shenanigans if RP does win. Even more so should he not.

C'est la vie with the GOP

I will have a freaking meltdown if Romney wins.

No one can win today. The winner can be declared, I guess. But if we want to bust our ass getting students at the Maine Maritime Academy to vote for us, we have 3 weeks to get 800 votes.

I'm worried that paul is saying it will be close and Romney's predicting a win.

Yeah, that's certainly not comforting.

Paul people: "It's gonna be close."

Romney people: "We're gonna win."

Who knows though, anything could happen.

Um what else are they going to say?

after voting finishes, if a candidate thinks they are not going to win they will start damage reduction- saying that they think they will do well but would not be drawn on winning, say that they have spent less, spent less time in the state etc.

This is very common, and the fact that Romney's team thinks they have won is very bad news.

It is worse that we are saying it is close. The contrast seems bad.

someone explain to me how they can announce official results when the voting is expected the be very close and some counties have had their ballots postponed?
they could be setting themselves up for another iowa situation here

It really wouldn't be surprising if Ron doesn't win this after not campaigning there at all this week.

They romney people have the numbers. They would not be sticking their necks out by telling a national television correspondent they were going to win unless they already had the results in front of them

Really?
Paul will not win.
The show's almost over.
Paul will not win a single state. Obviously. If we lived in a country where Paul could win a state, there would be no need for Paul.

Just shut up. They told CNN they were going to win Colorado on Tuesday and then got slaughtered.
