Broncos hire Miami defensive coordinator Vance Joseph (44). He was under serious consideration when they convinced Kubiac to take the job last time. He played college football just up the road at the University of Colorado (quarterback- he was third string the year they won the National Championship as a freshman). He also worked three years with Kubiac at Houston. This season, offense has been Denver's biggest problem.

Denver defensive coordinator Wade Phillips' contract is due to be renewed this year. Will the new coach want somebody else?

Elway likes people with history to him and Mike McCoy is said to be getting offered the job as offensive coordinator. He had that job with Denver from 2009 though 2012 when he was offered a head coaching job with San Diego. He worked with Kyle Orton, Tim Tebo, and Peyton Manning.

Sad to see him go. But I can understand the new coach wanting to choose his own staff and he was a defensive coordinator- maybe he will take over those duties? Or hire somebody else? Kubiac's experience was offense so he ran that.

Chargers hire Anthony Lynn- the acting coach at Buffalo- to be their coach. Lots going on these days.

Josh McDaniel has been interviewing with multiple teams every year now. I think he'd rather stay on with the Patriots and go to Super Bowls than coach shit teams that keep firing their coaches.

He did do a brief stint with Denver- replacing Mike Shannahan who had taken then to a couple of Super Bowls. Lasted two years. 8-8 first season and 3-9 the second.
