Official 2014 Senate Election Results Thread

What state will Scott Brown try and represent next
That 12 year old boy masquerading as a 30 Rockefeller political propagandist, Rachel Maddow, said, Scott Brown, the only man to lose US Senate races to two different woman in two states.

As usual, Marxist progressives love to segregate, group, and divide... but it was true. Should of called Scott Brown, "Mitt Romney Jr."

Maddow jusr forgot to mention Martha Coakley loosing twice, to two men, in two Massachusetts political races.

Yeah, it doesn't really seem like a victory, but there will be a shift in rhetoric.

Meh, I would say logjamming the hell out of this President is a positive outcome. Not that they will undo any of his crap of course.

Obama may have passed George W. Bush in terms of public distaste. Now that's saying something and he still has 2 years to go!

I sure hope no one is being romanticized by this result tonite. More statists with a different letter next to their names have moved around the musical chairs. I recognize that it helps Rand, at least, but don't expect any grand shifts in the agenda. It'll just be packaged with wording that appeals to a different political demographic but is still the same agenda of more gov't, more spending, more warmaking, more banker love, and less Constitutional adherence.

The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can ‘throw the rascals out’ at any election without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy” (Georgetown Jesuit University Professor Carroll Quigley, Tragedy and Hope, 1966.

On the bright side, this sets the stage for President Rand Paul to have a very friendly Congress to work with to set things right again.

You think Republicans will be friendly to Rand? I doubt it. Half of them will secretly (or even not so secretly) back Hillary over Rand.

LOL at my coworkers saying Dems got "destroyed" tonight.

Hope they know that freedom is still going to be destroyed either way.

Another GOP defeat in Virginia because of Libertarians? The Margin is there...

An actual quote from a poster on democraticunderground

You never know the votes arn't counted yet. Just the same I texted my therapist to let her know I may need to talk. If things go too bad tonight it will be another disaster for me.

Major GOP win. Maybe up to 9 senate seats, how many house seats did GOP gain? And look at all the new GOP governors we have for the 2016 cycle :toady:

Liberty candidate Rod Blum is up 2% points with 93% reporting in Iowa's first district. Probably the biggest win of the night for us if he hold on. He'll be right their with Amash and Massie fighting for our values.

Rod Blum won!!! BOOYAH!

LOL! Savaris stopped the Republican shill... I'm not the biggest fan of Savaris but I'm glad none of my GOP friends can gloat about Gillepse winning.

I was hoping Gillespie would win just so an incumbent would be knocked out. Same reason I wanted the Democrats to do well in Mississippi, South Carolina, and Maine.
