I like the long range planning, but March is my reserved month for big players in 2010. Is she a BIG player? I just might donate regardless on October 2nd, but March 2nd is more likely. Keep us posted.

Unfortunately, she had no chance whatsover. The Tigers are fighting the Lions and Perry or Hutchison will be Republican nominee. Our only chances to win a Republican primary are where the political servides have all marked a seat as "safe Democratic". This is not hopeful but if 2010 is a large Republican sweep we may elect a few candidates.

No doubt a longshot, but for someone with absolutely no name recognition to be polling at 3% is promising. She's been getting on talk radio and she leaves people impressed. She can play kingmaker at the very least. I think she can also get the based worked up as well.

Also a note. I will donate Oct. 2nd. Medina's website has bumper stickers and yard signs available for a few dollars each. Her campaign needs all the publicity it can get, so get the word out!

Yes, she has a chance. Many Texas voters aren't that happy with either Kay Bailout or Governor Good Hair, and a lot are watching to see if Deb can demonstrate fund raising and media attention.

On the media front, she's getting plenty of good interviews, and is already being included by the likes of Rasmussen in polls, and getting enough response to make the media take even more interest than they already were. There are a whole lot of mad-as-hell tea party/912 people in Texas who are very interested in what she has to say. Most of them are new to politics and not organized in that direction yet, but it's coming.

On the money front, that's where things like this money bomb come in. It all depends on if the people out there understand how significant this race is and what real chance she has, and put their money behind her. A lot of people are watching. Make it happen.

Medina is WIDELY regarded in the Texas media as the "kingmaker"... i.e., she may not stand much of a chance of winning, but her mere presence in the race means that each of the major candidates is going to be attacked from both sides and it's Medina who ultimately throws the race to one or the other. So, if for no other reason than to fuck with the status quo, we should be giving our support to Medina.

Also, I think it's worth pointing out that with less than $10,000 in campaign money and practically no name recognition, she's already polling 3% in the second most populous state in a heavily contested primary. Which is better than Peter Schiff, who has 100 times as much money and is a prominent media personality in a much smaller state with a just as heavily contested Republican primary. We're taking Schiff more seriously than Medina even though Medina is already outperforming him without the nationwide grassroots support? It just seems backwards to me.

There's so much dissatisfaction with KBH and Perry that I genuinely Medina could win this thing.

Since I've basically settled on a mechanism for donating, i.e. to one "minor" candidate in each month of Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, and December along with one "major" candidate in each month of Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep and November, Medina fits into my plan. Of course, exceptions will arise occasionally, but I plan on donating $25 to her campaign tomorrow.
