Ron Paul's farewell address really nailed it when he said something like people want the monetary gains from freedom but not freedom itself and that pretty much defines the left. 90% of their desires are for material goods... welfare, retirement, health care, etc. etc. They don't want true equality of freedom, they want monetary equality. The fact that they see the others as being all about money is their own bias.

A good example is I just watched saw Ken Burns Baseball, it really should have been called, Ken Burns, race and labor relations in baseball because that's all he could see. I couldn't even watch it all because I got sick of listening to it.
