Every time I talk to any Obama supporters they laugh at me for liking Ron Paul.

"He doesn't have a chance!" "He sucks!"

But they view Obama as a messiah incapable of making a mistake. They think the recent pastor scandal is meaningless.

Grrr......does any one else get this kind of crap?

Yes, all the time. I don't know why most diehard Obama fans tend to be diehard jerks. And of course the self-justofication that they're winning their nomination atm... as if that was all that matters.

I just ask them why they're voting for him and they never have anything beyond "my girlfriend likes him".

You should ask them why they support him and if they know he wants to expand our military obligations across the world, and spend even more money THAT WE DO NOT HAVE on the military than Bush, to keep us safe from the evil-doers like the bait the neocons have bought hook line and sinker. Ask them if they know Obama might attack Iran with our nuclear weapons, and that he will not rule it out. Ask them if they know that he will not commit to pulling all of the troops out of Iraq. Ask them if they know he wants to move troops from Iraq to Pakistan, for a third war. Ask them if they know Obama will defend Israel as if Israel is a state of the United States. Ask them if they know Obama's foreign policy advisor is Zbigniew Brzezinski, President Carter's national security advisor and co-founder of the Trilateral commission and his foreign policy was geared toward inticing the Soviets to invade Afghanistan, resulting in the death of over a million Afghans, spawning the Mujahedin, Osama bin Laden, and the Taliban.

I'm not sure they would listen to that. Usually when I make an argument against Obama it is ignored no matter how sound or factual it is.

Will they respond to "Why?"

If you get them to talk about WHY, maybe you can lead them into a discussion that will identify the fallacies.

Just tell them that you'll sure miss them after Obama's elected and they get drafted. Tell them you look forward to all their postcards from Pakistan! Oh, and can you "borrow" their car and girlfriend while they're gone? Be sure to take lots of pictures of them laughing and happy while you can...in case...you know...(Nobody likes pictures of those long military funeral processions with a flag draped coffin and everybody crying and everything).

Good one Vertas :)

And while you're telling them that you'll miss them when they are drafted, tell them that even if they are lucky enough not to be drafted when the draft comes, the economy will be so *&*^ed that they will need to enlist just to get a job anyway.

We are witnessing a political phenomenon with Barack Obama of rare magnitude. His speeches have inspired millions and yet most of his followers have no idea of what he stands for except platitudes of "Change" or that he says he will be a "Uniter". The power of speech from a charismatic person truly can be a powerful thing. Certainly Billy Graham had charisma and both his manner of speech and particularly the content changed millions. On the extreme other hand, the charisma of Adolph Hitler inspired millions and the results were catastrophic. Barack Obama certainly is no Hitler or a Billy Graham, but for many Americans out there feeling just like a surfer who might be ecstatic and euphoric while riding a tidal wave, the real st ory is what happens when it hits shore. Just Some of What Defines Barack Obama:

· He voted against banning partial birth abortion.

· He voted no on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions.

· Supports affirmative action in Colleges and Government.

· In 2001 he questioned harsh penalties for drug dealing.

· Says he will deal with street level drug dealing as minimum wage affair.

· Admitted marijuana and cocaine use in high school and in college.

· His religious convictions are very murky.

· He is willing to meet with Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Kim Jung Il andMahmoud Ahmadinejad.

· Has said that one of his first goals after being elected would be to have a conference with all Muslim nations.

· Opposed the Patriot Act.

· First bill he signed that was passed was campaign finance reform.

· Voted No on prohibiting law suits against gun manufacturers.

· Supports universal health-care.

· Voted yes on providing habeas corpus for Guantanamo detainees.

· Supports granting driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.

· Supports extending welfare to illegal immigrants.

· Voted yes on comprehensive immigration reform.

· Voted yes on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security.

· Wants to make the minimum wage a "living wage".

· Voted with Democratic Party 96 percent of 251 votes.

· Is a big believer in the separation of church and state.

· Opposed to any efforts to Privatize Social Security and instead supports increasing the amount of tax paid.

· He voted No on repealing the Alternative Minimum Tax

· He voted No on repealing the "Death" Tax

· He wants to raise the Capital Gains Tax.

· Has repeatedly said the surge in Iraq has not succeeded.

· He is ranked as the most liberal Senator in the Senate today and that takes some doing.

If your political choices are consistent with Barack ObamaÂ's and you think that his positions will bring America together or make it a better place, then you will probably enjoy the ride. If you are like most Americans that after examining what he stands for, are truly not in line with his record, it would be prudent to get off the wave or better yet, never get on, before it comes on shore and undermines the very foundations of this great Country. We have limited time to save America or the Supreme Court as we know it. Inaction is action.

It's called ignorance.

I think you all are making a mistake.
You are trying to counter with logic and reason.
Obama supporters are not capable of these higher thought processes. :D

You have to appeal to their Feelings. :p

Count Me Out
The Obama Craze

By MATT GONZALEZ

Part of me shares the enthusiasm for Barack Obama. After all, how could someone calling themself a progressive not sense the importance of what it means to have an African-American so close to the presidency? But as his campaign has unfolded, and I heard that we are not red states or blue states for the 6th or 7th time, I realized I knew virtually nothing about him.

Like most, I know he gave a stirring speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2004. I know he defeated Alan Keyes in the Illinois Senate race; although it wasn't much of a contest (Keyes was living in Maryland when he announced). Recently, I started looking into Obama's voting record, and I'm afraid to say I'm not just uninspired: I'm downright fearful. Here's why:

I'm at a loss to why his oratory is considered to be so worthy of praise. He uses the same, unvaried, unimpressive 'style' in every speech. It's pathetic. What's more pathetic, the whole fucking country is going wild over this man's sub-par rhetoric.

Just while I'm on this topic: has anyone ever seen a public speaker more predictable in his speech rhythms, more unvaried in his speech rhythms, and more transparent in his presentation than John McCain? The guy is ab-sooo-luuuut-ely horrible.
