Obama said he would have all troops out of Iraq by today

Has anyone in MSM asked him about this?

If anyone from team Obama surfing this forum, would he/she care to explain?

someone should ask this on democraticunderground, the online "liberal" community

I'm sure you'd get mostly crickets... but anyone who thinks they're up to the challenge would just give some bull argument that he's had to re-evaluate the situation and things in Afghanistan have escalated... blah blah blah.

Yup.

Last I searched the numbers were 92,000 in Iraq and 94,000 in Afghanistan. Total combined forces equal or exceed the total population of Nashville, TN. Or Ft. Lauderdale FL. Or Tallahasee, FL. Or Fayetteville NC. Or Birmingham AL. Or Salt Lake City. UT.

He did add that the withdrawl would depend on the situation there and that "we will be as careful about getting out as we were wreckless going in."

He has started to remove forces from Iraq- though not at the rate he hoped for in 2008.

at the very least, however, it's a very wishy-washy position that's subject to just about any whim, under the sun and open to justification for building a permanent base there, afterall or keeping more troops there than "originally planned".

Time will tell, but I'm willing to bet Iraq will just be another South Korea.

So, in the two years since that story was published (10 July 2008) claiming that accusations of Obama's plan to remove troop was a lie, we have to assume that the commanders on the ground have been consulted and there will be no withdrawal since there are still 100,000 or more still in Iraq after another 24 months?

Ahh, if you haven't noticed, Zippy is pretty much an apologist for anything the government does.

I remember when O began insinuating that yeah, we'd be out of Iraq, but we'd be moving more agressively into Afganistan. from the left hand to the right hand. but not really. superfail.

And to think that so many voted for him "cause he's gonna end this war". nauseating.

And just one more reason why I still love this place, and Ron Paul, and will continue this revolution.

Yep..Obama ran on this during the primaries, but no one seemed to care at all.
