obama rally in minneapolis. Holy f*#k!!!

well I'm in. At least 14k people here now and people still pouring in. At least the concession stands are open... Obama talks at 4 central for an hour. I feel like I am in a trace here, is there any hope for this country? I mn is democrat country, but damn!

I'm gonna go buy some hot dogs and eat away my hopelessness.

You are in one of the most blue states in the Union, so no surprises from me. Hell, Minnesota was the only state to vote against Reagan in 1984.

Minnesota is a very democratic state...but that is not the main reason why it went for Mondale in 84. Mondale is from Minnesota.

EDIT: I didn't read the whole post, and realize this has been said like six times.

Now take that map, and color it all blue. That's what it will look like if Ron Paul is not the nominee.

~X~

Doesn't matter, the state is and always will be blue. They love their farm subsidies...

Oh it definitely tends to go blue, but it definitely does matter when the guy's home state was Minnesota. And you said they were the most blue state in the nation, and I just wanted to let you know that Mondale was from Minnesota and that's probably a big reason why it didn't go to Reagan that year. And it's kind of misleading when you say they're the most blue state in the nation when Gore only won there in 2000 by 2.4% and Kerry in 2004 by 3.8%. I'd call that a swing state. Clinton won there by double digits in both 92 and 96, but he was of course a lot more popular than Gore or Kerry ever were. It'll probably be blue again by a sizeable margin this year thanks to the Bush Administration.

True.

I am from Minnesota, and I can tell you it definitely is not the most democratic state. It is democratic leaning, but a majority of the population is in the twin cities. The people in the cities tend to be more intelligent and discerning than your average person. Not to say they don't do stupid things, but Minnesota would go to Ron Paul in the general election if he was against Clinton; Minnesotans a very much against the war.

The ONLY thing Obama wants to change is the nameplate on the Oval Office desk.

Anyone who thought that revolutions were easy should be beginning to see the light about now ...

ATTENTION..... everyone in MN. CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WITH A ARM LOAD OF DVDS AND SLIM JIMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One Can Only Guess...

Ask them WHY they're supporting Obama :)

In my honest opinion, the only reason why people support Obama is because he's Black. That's the kind of "change" they have in mind when they hear Obama speak of it. "Oh, how glorious our nation would be to have a Black American President," they rave. How ignorantly racist and utterly stupid can the American public be sometimes!

well, he is a very good orator. He addresses all the issues that need to be addressed, aside from the most important of monetary policy. I can see why people support him. Unfortunately, all his solutions consist of: let the government handle it and take care of you. Exactly what caused all the problems in the first place. Apparently he will lower our insurance premiums by $2400 by the end of his first term, how I'm not sure.

I wish I could just get up on stage and set this shit straight!

people don't support him just because he is black to those of you saying that. He does give people hope for change. His centralized approach to govt is just going to lead to the wrong type of change.
