obama now military favorite? wth?

Ya this isn't really a big deal.

From January 2011 until March, servicemembers who gave more than $200 contributed about $333,134 to Paul's campaign, as compared to about $184,505 for Obama and just $45,738 to Republican frontrunner Mitt Romney, according to an analysis by the center.

"But in March, Obama and Paul switched places," Choma wrote. "Members of the military sent $36,448 to Obama and just $17,733 to Paul. Even though Romney solidified his position as the presumptive Republican nominee, military donations to his campaign remained anemic -- only $8,630."

Of records that do include such details, Obama's best source of donations was the Department of Defense; Romney's was the Army and so was Paul's.

Headquarters of the Department of Defense, the Pentagon is one of the world's largest office buildings.

At this stage, donations to the RP campaign would naturally taper off as his supporters lose faith in his electability. Even so, the difference is quite insignificant in absolute terms. Hypothetically, one wealthy officer could have easily accounted for half of Obama's military donations or more. Note the qualifier. Furthermore, small donors didn't necessarily disclose their military status.

The numbers reflect individual donations of more than $200 – givers don't have to provide as much information with smaller ones – and only those in which givers volunteered their connections with the military services. (An Army nurse who listed "nurse," as opposed to "soldier," with a contribution, for example, wouldn't be counted with the Army donors.) So there is no way to track the precise amounts and breakdowns for the armed forces.

What did Obama do tell a bunch of colonels he would promote them to general if they donated? lol

They need to erase "DoD" from the statistics. "DoD" - aka getting paid to sit on your ass with a cushy government contract - is responsible for the vast majority of Obama's military donations.

We're talking about the military here, no matter what's your stance on the president's policies , he's your commander and chief.

You don't disrespect military authority because they own you.

Uh.. Pirates use to toss their captain overboard if they had enough of him.

A commander and chief is nothing more than a tactician, and they are in no way superior. Even Obama is a mere human I see as an equal. Not to defend (or support?) Obama, but he should be judged no more or less than any other individual.

We used to trash talk bush all the time. Nothing ever happened because everyone knew us being deployed was BS.

We're not talking about pirates; we are talking about the Commander and Chief of all our armed forces. It is completely asinine to compare this position to the one of a pirate captain when the position of Commander and Chief is a legal power granted to the president.

The U.S. Constitution is very clear on this...

You miss-interpreted the idea. The argument isn't if you like him or not, it's fact that commanding all U.S. armed forces is his job. We're one of the few countries in world where military generals take orders from an elected, democratic official - remember that.

.

If you don't like your president - don't serve in the military.
