Is this being discussed by the Old Media? Anything on the net? Any expert commentaries? Any links? Sources?

I know he has Democratic support for this bill, but I don't really understand what is so significant about the actual bill. Isn't the bill just calling for an end to funding?

Sorry, I'm at work and don't have time to do my own due diligence.

No.

H.R.2605
Title: To establish a sunset for the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 (Public Law 107-243).

If the bill passes and the president is still conducting military operations after 180 days in Iraq, he is acting outside of constitutional mandate for use of military force.

Unlike any of the dozens of crimes the president has committed so far, this would be by far the easiest grounds on which to impeach him.

The Dem's should be jumping all over themselves to co-sponsor this (and kicking themselves of not thinking of it). This way we get out of the war and at the same time they will not look heartless by defunding the troops.

This is huge EVEN IF it goes down in flames! Just the chatter alone is worth $1M in publicity, don't you think? You can't buy the sort of publicity and name recognition he's going to get from this!

THREE emails sent to FL representatives to vote yes to HR 2605. I spoke to our meetup organizer and he said they are a bunch of Neo-cons that won't go against President Bush.

Regardless, 3 emails sent to: Diaz-Balart, Mel Martinez, Bill Nelson.

better yet, call your congressman's office. it makes a stronger impression than an email that can be easily skimmed and deleted.

I sent a link to the article to Keith Obermann. More should do the same and send it to other media outlets. It is a good proposal and needs media attention.

This is good news and with more and more Repubs backing away from support of the War, Ron Paul will be remembered as the one who lead the charge against this quagmire

Or right them a real paper letter with ink and stamps. Those get attention. [Or so I'm told]. I'm writing to Chris Van Hollen tonight.

No one has mentioned this yet..

Did you see this line?

But either way, it appears maverick conservative Republican *— and presidential contender — Ron Paul of Texas, will be getting plenty of help from anti-war Democrats on his proposal (HR 2605) to repeal President Bush’s authority to use force in Iraq within six months.

Wow, the most liberal of papers in the Union just called Paul a presidential contender. I wonder if they think the Dems have the W.H. locked up if they elevate Paul. That would so backfire on them :)

The only guy the Dems couldn't beat next November is Paul, they'll wipe the floor with every other candidate.
