You're not a good reader.Like I heard a billion times at the time, "Tenth Amendment, Bro."
That's the one state in the union where that was the case. Good for them. They managed to avert the Trump lockdowns. The other 49 states weren't so lucky. They all simultaneously in the middle of March 2020 adopted nearly identical lockdowns. Why? Because 49 governors all had the same idea at the same time? No. Because they all followed the the US Government COVID 19 Response Plan, published by the Trump administration on March 13 that year, and accepted the funding and federal support that Trump gave them to enact his lockdowns. The existence of South Dakota doesn't make what the other 49 states endured any less fascistic.I have a house in SD, nothing was shutdown.
You're plucky. Don't ever lose that. Try to stay objective. You're not a good reader.
The lockdowns happened because of violation of the 10th Amendment. Trump wasn't a helpless victim watching as states violated his will. He was the mastermind (or at least the authority who gave power to the masterminds like Fauci) behind them and the enabler of them. All Trump would have needed to do was stay out of it, and no governors would have had the means to keep their states locked down more than a couple weeks.
Beyond question. I don't see how that's not just accepted as a given here (other than the fact that Trumpers insist on defending Trump at all costs). Where in the Constitution does it delegate to the federal government the authority to do any of what the US Government COVID 19 Response Plan, published on March 13, 2020, says? Are you saying Trump exceeded his legal authority in regards to the lockdowns?

I don't blame the foreigners per se, It's been 24 years since 911. Most young people have no clue about it (18-35). These are the Obama kids raised in a progressive worldview. They're also teaching the younger generations. Cities are screwed.Mamdani will win because roughly 40 percent of NYC's population is not American.
No harder than that to figure out.
They come here, fleeing shitholes countries created by polices they endorsed and supported.
And then immediately vote for more of the same.
No different than Massholes fucking up Maine and New Hampshire or Californians fucking up Washington and Colorado.
Yeah. I'm sure Cuomo being a sexual abusing mass murder has nothing to do with it.Mamdani will win because roughly 40 percent of NYC's population is not American.

New York has always been too liberal to vote in someone like Silwa and among the non Silwa voters, Cuomo's past is too much to overcome. I called this years ago when the investigations against Cuomo came out. They didn't want Cuomo as competition for Biden (or Harris) in the presidential election and so they (New York AG's office) successfully destroyed his career through lawfare. And...I'm not complaining because he is pond scum.Told ya so...

There are all sorts of things that are implemented at the state level as a result of federal involvement. That's not an excuse. Are complaints about the federal Department of Education invalidated by the fact that its influences are filtered down to the people through state and local governments? When local police departments fight the drug war with military vehicles that were given to them by the federal government at taxpayer expense, is the federal government off the hook just because it's local governments that end up using this equipment? Does the 10th Amendment only apply to cases where the federal government forces the states to comply, and not all the other much more common methods of manipulating states via funding?Trump's Actions and Claims
Where Trump attempted to exceed his authority was in April, when he tried to open the economy. The libs freaked out. Tenth amendment, bro.
- No National Lockdown Order: The Trump administration issued guidelines, not a federal mandate for a national lockdown. Actual stay-at-home orders were implemented by individual governors.
- "Total Authority" Claim: In April 2020, President Trump falsely claimed he had "total" authority to decide when states would reopen their economies, a claim widely disputed by legal experts and governors who cited the 10th Amendment. He later backpedaled on these comments.
- Undermining Federal Agencies: While the question of authority was primarily a federalism issue, the Trump administration was also criticized for sidelining and undermining the advice of federal public health agencies like the CDC and FDA, which some legal analysts argued hindered a coordinated national response
This whole thing seems inevitable. Cuomo is supposed to be the "moderate" dem, who ironically has as much baggage as the rest of them. All three candidates are a joke. The DNC is literally ceding the city to the progressive far-left wackos. The party itself is being held hostage to the monster it created...look at the shutdown. And now the cities will burn, and Trump will step in with the military...Yeah. I'm curious. What do you have against Silwa? This whole thing seems inevitable. Cuomo is supposed to be the "moderate" dem, who ironically has as much baggage as the rest of them. I've listened to Sliwa's radio show for many years. I like him, personally. As a candidate, he's awful. Like I said, young people don't remember 911. They certainly don't remember the Guardian Angels. Take off the stupid beret. He's a has-been who never-was. He's a clown that reminds me of Trump, a personality first, a leader, second.I'm curious. What do you have against Silwa?

The lockdowns would not have happened without 1) Trump making Dr. Fauci and Dr. Brix the sole arbiters of what to do during the crisis[1] and 2) Trump pushing through the socialsist PPP program to pay people to go along with the lockdowns. You're never going to convince someone who's dead set on "hoping" that Trump isn't responsible for things he clearly was responsible for because they don't want to believe he is "evil" the way they are convinced that Dr. Fauci is "evil." It's like "good cop / bad cop" with Trump as the "good cop" and Dr. Fauci as the "bad cop" when the COVID response is pitched to the conservatives and the reverse when it's pitched to the liberals. There are all sorts of things that are implemented at the state level as a result of federal involvement. In order to maintain their services and structures,
they have to keep the tax base inflating
