NYC Mayor's race (2025)

I'm hoping like hell they elect this guy.

I hope this time its "real socialism" and not the tyrannical or oppressive socialism.

Forged signatures found on Mayor Adams’ petitions to run as an independent
Gothamist reviewed signatures submitted from across New York City and found people who said their names were forged, as well as people who said they were deceived into signing the petitions. In at least three instances, the campaign turned in signatures from dead people.

The bottom line, though, is that it's unlikely to get him kicked off the ballot. He had roughly 50,000 signatures, and needed only 7,500

Your choices seem to be, in NYC, a failed governor, run off in disgrace after a "sex" scandal, but never really held accountable for his murderous COVID policies that led directly to the deaths of 30,000 or more elderly people in state homes and assisted living centers and a foreign flag Ugandan born Communist.

The democrat primary is tomorrow, and in the current political climate in NYC, the primary winner will win in November.

I honestly don't care as I don't live in New York and I don't get this obsession with other people's mayors. That said apparently he's no more communist than REPUBLICAN Michael Bloomberg.

Because the biggest, most "influential" city in the United States should not be run by a Ugandan Communist.

But, if that's not reason enough, and it should be, but, if not, maybe this is a reason to care about that election:

Somewhere last night in New York City, a single mother and her children slept at a homeless shelter because you, assemblyman @ZohranKMamdani are occupying her rent controlled apartment.

You grew up rich and married an even wealthier woman. You’ve had weddings on 3 continents. You own property in LGTBQIA+ murderous Uganda. You make $142,000 a year plus stipends, and your wife works too, meaning you together likely make well over $200,000. No matter which way you cut it: Zohran Mamdani is a rich person. You are actually very rich.

Yet you and your wife pay $2,300 a month, as you have bragged, for a nice apartment in Astoria. That should be housing for someone who needs it.

We are in the middle of a historic affordability crisis. Millions of low income New Yorkers need this apartment and an apartment like it. Yet your apartment remains rented to rich people who don’t need it.

Today, I am calling on you to move out immediately and give your affordable housing back to an unhoused family who need it. Leaders must show moral clarity. Time to move out.

The Human Action Podcast: Episode 512

Bob takes on a proposal for New York City to run its own grocery stores, dismantling the historical myths, economic fallacies, and rhetorical tricks behind the idea. From Flint’s water crisis to “food deserts,” he explains why government control will create shortages, low-quality food, and wasted resources.
