Rep. Jamaal Bowman’s (D-NY) career in Congress will end after a single term following a series of antisemitic controversies and a Capitol stunt resulting in his criminal conviction.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer defeated Bowman Tuesday night in the most expensive House race in history. AdImpact estimated the two camps spent a total of $23 million on the Democrat primary, according to filings compiled by OpenSecrets.

The race was called for Latimer less than a half hour after polls closed.

The primary in New York’s 16th Congressional District centered around a referendum on Israel-Palestinian policy and drew significant national attention. Bowman, the progressive former middle school principal and member of “The Squad,” represented the insurgent Hamas sympathizer wing of the Democrat Party, while Latimer, supported by the pro-Israel lobby, condemned Hamas’s attack on Israel.

Bowman opposes Israel’s military operations in Gaza, while Latimer has not called for a ceasefire but supports a two-state solution.

Additionally, Bowman had denied Hamas raped women during the October 7, 2023, terrorist attack on Israel (he apologized under immense political pressure) and ridiculed another House member for hosting Jewish leaders, among other instances, which drew accusations of antisemitism.

Those were not the only controversies to overwhelm Bowman.

Jamaal Bowman pleaded guilty in October 2023 to one misdemeanor for falsely pulling a fire alarm in a congressional office building a month prior, just as lawmakers were about to vote on a short-term government funding measure to avoid a government shutdown.

Sorry Bowman, on the political power intersectional matrix, you still rank a little lower then your competitor...

Of the states with the lowest murder rate, the top four all have "constitutional carry" and no significant gun control restrictions at all.

NH-VT-ME-ID-MA

Guns are not what cause murders.

MS has the worst murder rate in the nation at almost 28 per 100k.

NH is 1.1 per 100k.

MS-LA-AL-NM-SC are the worst five

All of these states except NM have CC and unrestrictive gun laws, an outlier like MA in the northeast.

What is the common denominator here besides guns?

Having lost most experienced member , former school teacher. And he is only out because AIPAC won his seat.Good God , no wonder this country is in the toilet.

following a series of antisemitic controversies

Notice the vague and nonfalsifiable way the word "antisemitic" is used there.

It is thrown into the article as if it is simply a taken-for-granted fact that he did or said something antisemitic. But if anyone wants to press for the basis of that claim, and it turns out that charges of antisemitism are based on statements he made that were very open to interpretation, the author can simply say that they merely referred to "antisemitic controversies," as in controversies over whether or not anything he said could be interpreted as antisemitic.

anti semitic in gay /jew/commie ny means only your goals may be different than aipac

Yes, that seems to be the case. But the deceptiveness is in tossing the word around as if it's a matter of fact without indicating that that's all you really mean by it. It's good to take note of that usage to identify propaganda.

It's Breitbart.

Their editor in chief is Scott Pollack, a jew.

So no surprise there.

But yes, your point is valid, it's thrown into the mix like "racist" or "homophobic" is smear the target without having to have any evidence or proof of the accusation.

I'm still not sad to see Mr. Bowman gone.

Damn near becoming a single issue voter:

Anyone willing to openly criticize Izrael and or AIPAC.

He’ recently was embedded with IDF military & has been writing total propaganda almost every day in favor of Israeli’s slaughtering Gazans & taking land.

Just pathetic how 1 sided he is

As you know I'm African American. One of my late great cousins was a high school teacher in the early 20th century and every day she laid a pistol on her desk. Another cousin of mine who was a principal in the 1990s and early 2000s hired military vets to work as janitors and double as security and get FBI gun training. Bowman is a complete idiot. "More guns equals more deaths."

Hmmmm....thanks. This gives some much needed perspective.

Much of the spending came after a poll in March from pro-Israel group Democratic Majority for Israel showed Bowman trailing by 17 points.
Bowman has emerged as one of Congress' most vocal critics of Israel in recent years, with Latimer running as a pro-Israel alternative in the heavily Jewish, affluent suburban district.

So it wasn't necessarily the money but possibly the demographics of the district that was the issue?
