unsurprised
The risk we run in this is that some people may decide to bring in the cops instead of a truly defense-oriented organization.ugghhh....what an idiot. We really need to push GOA because I noticed a lot of the gun stores around here push NRA, which means that the follower-types will be influenced by this kind of stupidity.
I think, first and foremost, they need to get rid of the no-gun zones, and then let the parents and staff of each school decide whether they want a private, armed security guard, and/or armed staff. Let each school figure out how to pay for it.
When I was in highschool, we had an armed security officer who roamed around the campus. He was actually pretty cool....caught us ditching class and smoking weed up in the stadium on more than one occasion, and just shoo'd us back to class. That was back in the 70s in Texas.

Flashback:
2010 - NRA Trades First Amendment Rights for Second Amendment Rights
The National Rifle Association (NRA) has confirmed that they willingly cut a deal with Congress at the expense of free speech that says: We will not stand in the way of the proposed Disclose Act, believed to infringe upon First Amendment rights, if you do not infringe on our Second Amendment rights.
Shouldn't that be their choice? And those who disagree with it can vote with their feet. I seriously now believe that the lines need to be drawn between the free and the UNfree. Let it happen. Let us, as a society, begin to naturally and peacefully (if possible) create "free zones".
You know, the "voting with your feet" thing might be fine for some, but some of us have a huge investment in where we live. And I'm not talking about money, I'm talking about time and hard work. I built my house with my own hands, even the cabinets (kitchen & bath) and the trim (all custom cherry). And now, I'm getting ready to turn 58, so I'm not likely to do that again.
edit: And what about people that live on property that has been in the family for ages? How about the Constitutions (Fed and State) be followed?
