Now what?

The campaign needs to revamp how Ron explains his foreign policy, and the grassroots have to hit the pavement. Hopefully something happens to Bachmann's support

Remember, Ron Paul has been consistently moving UP in the polls over the past few months, and as we know, Paul's support is much more solid than others' once he gains it. So yes, the media boost of Ron winning the poll would have been amazing, the fact that we nearly tied Bachmann and eclipsed the other candidates says our organizational strength is continuing to grow massively. We get to keep growing! I think not getting 1st is probably good for our egos, it will keep us motivated by reminding us that we have a lot of hard work to do if we want to end up with Ron Paul giving his GOP nomination acceptance speech a year from now...

THIS THIS THIS

We consistently grow. Our support doesn't move when we have it. It only goes up. Considering how the media also would have made the straw poll seem like it didn't matter if we won that may not have been good if we won anyways. Point being now they will treat the poll as serious measure of a candidates strength and we came in a very close second.

Not sure why this is downrated.

Anyway, I took willwash's advice:

Drink, smoke whatever you do to celebrate tonight but after this weekend begin to think about solid steps in order to win.

Start organizing and participating with real life boots on the ground in the early states Iowa & New Hampshire. Fund raise to bus people in to do GOTV (get out the vote), door to door, community events, signs, etc. If you are not in one of the early states do what you can to support them so they can get the bodies up there to do the work that is needed to win those early contests. If you can car pool to those early states on the weekends with fellow supports to pitch in and help out. Imagine if we win the early ones what kind of an impact that will have on the rest of the campaign? It is essential we win them by not overestimating our support like we did in 2007/2008 but instead work harder than we normally would so that we can win by landslides and exceed expectations, including our own.
