yeah. The whole NoV 5 thing is dumb.

i'm doing it and its 100 bucks i would have otherwise not donated and will not affect my future donating in anyway....guess that's dumb

that said the nov 4th idea is great for those who don't agree with the nov 5th thing

we all think differently, are inspired differently, and come from so many different facets of society which is what makes this movement so great

All those who recognize the insanity of the November 5th Fundraising Drive, should donate $100 dollars on November 4th to protest the destruction of Ron Paul's campaign.

Imagine the horrible press we will receive if the media picks up on the idea that what is motivating the November 5th donations is the V for Vendata movie. They will have even more excuse to call us all crazy.

The idea isn't about holding out. The idea is about donating $100 on Nov 4/5. Keep donating as usual though.

i didn't think the movie was bad, i just think the novel goes so much deeper. alan moore is an amazing writer, and there is a ton of depth in almost everything he has done. he chooses to distance himself from film adaptations of his work, as they usually don't paint the whole picture.

If you have to "hold out" to do this, don't do it, obviously. Today is our biggest day yet this quarter, so we're not starving the pipe.

Apparently, a lot of people seem to think the only way we can run a massive donation drive is by associating it with Vendetta, and Vendetta only.

The project rocks. The association is a risk of enormous proportions. The current identity of this project is lose/lose. I don't see it generating any more support than another well-created video/message, but I do see the possibility of it torpedoing the campaign if the stars align just right.

Why take such a risk for no gain??

I will donate on the 30th or 4th. I have not decided yet if the 4th is too close to the 5th for me. I do not want to contribute to media attention to this risky message.

Maybe a nice bold disclaimer about the views and intentions of the event can be posted on the event's website so that if people do end up hearing bad things about it, they can go to the site and see what it's all about. Put a date on the disclaimer or something. I just don't think this is as big a deal as some people are making it out to be. If they want to knock us for it, go for it. I know very few people who saw that movie and didn't like it and they will probably take offense to the media effectively bashing the movie's ideas. Everybody calm down and just do whatever you want with your donations. This event will not be pulled/stopped barring a request from the campaign itself so give it up.

These are the kind of ideas people on this forum should come up with more often, about November 5th that is.
It seems that the more worthy subjects stay on the 1st page a bit longer.
Splashed with a bit of descent, is what makes it interesting.
I am willing to bet that the longevity of this subject will break forum history, and stay alive for a few more weeks, on the 1st page.
The thousands of visitors and lurkers who are away this week, will come across this subject next week, and will get to participate in the discussion, agree with it or not.
Doesn't matter either way. What matters is what it represents, Massive donations to the national campaign. This is a way to make it happen, like it or not, it needs to be done once in a while.
