November 4th election results.

Did not Ilhan Omar calling for Somalis to be deported on my bingo card.

One could argue it's subsumed under "FREE SPACE" (representing the default of politicians being mealy-mouthed weasels who don't actually give a damn about any of the things they most loudly pretend to care about).

I find it sadly yet hilariously ironic that (non-Daarood) Somalis, rather than Americans, are her strongest political opposition.

But I suppose it's not surprising. Exactly the same kind of thing happened in the Late Roman Empire, as Goths, Alans, Balkans, etc., etc. squabbled for power over what was left (consider, for just one of many examples, the Year of the Six Emperors [1]).

[1] FTA (hyperlinks omitted): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_of_the_Six_Emperors

The Year of the Six Emperors was the year AD 238, during which six men made claims to be emperors of Rome. This was an early symptom of what historians now call the Crisis of the Third Century (AD 235–285), a period in which the Roman Empire nearly collapsed under the combined pressures of foreign invasions and migrations into the Roman territory, plagues, civil wars, peasant rebellions, political instability (with multiple usurpers competing for power), Roman reliance on (and growing influence of) foreign mercenaries known as foederati and commanders nominally working for Rome (but increasingly independent), the devastating social and economic effects of the plague, debasement of currency, and economic depression. The crisis ended with the final victory of Diocletian and his implementation of reforms in 285.

Look at it strategically (I don't actually care about Team R winning races, but just trying to analyze their situation objectively) Team R was smart not to waste resources on a race they were guaranteed to lose in NYC no matter what they did.

But looking at the bigger picture about Team R's more widespread loss of support, I think it's more a result of Trump and the majority of the Republicans in Congress who follow him blindly abandoning much of what made Trump popular and unabashedly embracing their new status as the swamp.

When it comes to future elections no one here factors in the high odds that the economy is going to be a disaster in the coming years. It's already bad but we could be easily be looking at double digit price inflation and unemployment. Remember how you go bankrupt, slowly at first, then all at once.

I expect the dems to sweep in 2028.

I don't think anyone is predicting an economic bust cycle.

Not when we are in a new industrial revolution.

The biggest problem that we are going to have is political.

The socialist winning an election by getting the majority of votes from people who aren't born here could happen anywhere.

A lot of people seem to not understand that the flavor of socialism that they are voting for has been around for 1000s of years and its just slavery rebranded.

I don't blame republicans for letting someone like that get elected because republicans are the minority in New York. That would be like blaming libertarians for who wins the general election.

This is something largely created by the democrat party bringing in their neoslavery. Since they have a monopoly on government in some states.

"I am more afraid of our own blunders than of the enemy's devices."

How to say, "I could just as easily have stopped typing after the first three words."

Well here's the thing. If people thought that-you know the economy was going to bust the stock market wouldn't be booming.

These people who we can't even call billionaires anymore we have to call them trillionaires must know something about the market's future.

The USA's economy is doing so good we are going to have more trillionaires than any other country.

The only thing that will kill the USA's success is going to be bad ideas.

These liberals with ivy league educations promoting socialism aren't idiots.

The talking point of telling them in socialism you always run out of other people's money isn't going to cut it.

They know that with slavery you never run out of other people's money and thats what they want.

They want more of other people's money.

Well here's the thing.

No, the thing is that you responded to a man doing a thing by saying you don't think anyone does it.

If you don't think he did what he did, then nobody can call what you do thinking.

JD Rockefeller's first million was worth more than a trillion. The thing that proves you don't think is the way you keep talking about the current numbers like they represent the greatest actual value ever. If you were capable of rational thought, you'd realize that this place is full of people who know better than you do the nature of the sliding scale you irrationally claim is a useful measurement.

How many rockets capable of going to the moon could Rockefeller buy with his "trillion"

What you can buy with today's wealth does'nt pale in comparison to centuries ago.

Oh, look. Another sliding scale from our own electronic Zippyjuan.

While certain things cost more than they did centuries ago many things cost less than they did centuries ago.

Its not a sliding scale and it works on similar principles of Rockefeller's primary innovation.

Transporting large quantities of resources at lower and lower costs.

The cost to transport something to low earth orbit with reusable rockets- you couldn't buy that with all the money in the world centuries ago.

Remember, folks. Saying Julius Caesar wasn't rich because any rich person can buy a Twix bar isn't a sliding scale.

Power is something completely different than wealth.

When power speaks even money takes three steps backwards

Oh, look. The Fed-trolling clanker got caught implying that Julius Caesar was a poor man, and is doubling down on it.

Now that's comedy.

Elections decide nothing. They merely serve as the justification for those in power to do what they had planned to do in the first place. The only thing elections really impact is what kind of rhetoric the elites use to sell their pre-existing policy decisions.

I would have thought that peopl here, at least, would be aware of that fact. But instead they carry on as if their votes could change anything.

I am with you on that. All elections do is provide the “consent” that they claim they need to run roughshod on us. I don’t consent and therefore don’t vote. I resist every way I can and recommend it to all.

Republicans are like 10% of New York.

How do you blame 10% of voters for what the other 90% do in a winners take all election?

Most republicans just leave because its like that.
So run a dude that was run out of office and was a known sexual harasser. That would make sense to idiots making excuses for Team (R) - The Pedo Protectors

Republicans could run Jesus Christ in New York and he couldn't get elected.

The "Vote blue no matter who" democrats elected a Senator that had a stroke.

They still voted for him after he had the stroke.
