I'm going to write-in Ron Paul not just for President but for every race on the ballot, as there is not one decent candidate that I will have the opportunity to vote for in the general.

If anything, just vote for Gary Johnson. Write-ins are silly.

Gary Johnson is simply a lesser evil. No thanks.

The only reason to vote GJ is to get the Libertarian Party automatic ballot access for the next election as a way of pressuring the GOP to move towards liberty policies.

Gary Johnson is not going to win, it only gives the Libertarian Party more credibility as a third party.

Doug Wead convinced me to vote for Gary Johnson instead of writing in Ron Paul. My main concerns are that
#1 My write in vote won't be counted
#2 The Libertarian Party will lose it's status on my ballot

I'm pretty much convinced that a vote for Gary Johnson will be in the minds of the GOP loyalists a vote for Ron Paul. They believe that we're going for Johnson in place of Ron Paul and I WANT them to KNOW without a doubt that they pushed me away from voting for a GOP candidate. I want it to resonate in their minds. I want it to marinate until 2016

I wrote in Ron Paul in 2008 but this time I will be voting Gary Johnson for the reasons you stated above. I want my vote to be noticed by the GOP and I think that is best accomplished by not writing in a vote that may not even be counted.

Americans 18+ of age:
  • 29% voted McCain
  • 33% voted Obama
  • 38% did not bother with the charade

Imagine if the 38% actually bothered voting for any candidate other than the Republicrats.

I'm going back and forth between writing in Paul, and casting an empty ballot.
I wish I knew what every other Paul fan in VA was doing. If we could organize one way or the other I'd do that. I'm looking to send the message, as clearly as possible, that we're the reason Romney lost.

But I'm not voting for Johnson.

The way I see it, I have three options:

Stay home.

Write-in RP.

Vote GJ.

I should know this, but does anyone know if write-ins are counted in NH? If they are, I'll definitely write-in RP. Otherwise, I'll probably stay home.
